The International Print Biennale Yerevan is the first and only internationally recognized event of its scale in the field of fine arts in Armenia and the region since 2017 organized by the initiative KulturDialog Armenien. The main goals of the Biennale are to study trends and current developments in the field of printmaking, to consider the means of combining classical, now rarely applied techniq
ues, with cutting-edge ideas, to reveal the potential for possible interactions with other art disciplines, and to increase interest in this particular art form. It is fascinating to observe the works of artists from various backgrounds in one exposition, to study the peculiarities of artistic vision, traditions, and principles developed in several national schools of printmaking, and to differentiate creative expressions and choices of techniques. In this respect, the Biennale develops a unique intercultural dialogue, presenting up-to-date printing trends applied in Armenian printmaking to an international audience. Simultaneously, the Biennale offers printmakers the opportunity to communicate with each other; it is a platform to exchange experiences and creative ideas, as well as a chance to promote their art at an international level. The comprehensive overview of the structural diversity of contemporary art trends, the high artistic quality of exhibits, and the range of techniques and the broad scope of the Biennale's program drew a continuous flow of visitors during the event. This year, the Fourth International Print Biennale Yerevan 2023 will take place from September 8 to November 8 in Yerevan, at the Charles Aznavour Center. Within the framework of “The Fourth International Print Biennale, Yerevan 2023”, from September 12 to 17, 2023, for the first time in Armenia and in the region, KulturDialog Armenien and the Organizing Committee of the International Print Biennale, Yerevan, are holding the International Printmaking Symposium “Armenia: A Center of Printmaking in the Region”, with the participation of international well known printmaking artists.
