ASA as One of the Voices of the “EU-Armenia” Cultural Dialogue🇦🇲 🇪🇺
🤝 The second EU-Armenia Cultural Dialogue meeting took place, bringing together speakers to discuss the potential of Armenia’s cultural and creative sectors, their strategic development, and European perspectives for collaboration.
💬 The discussion included ՀՀ կրթության, գիտության, մշակույթի և սպորտի նախարարություն Zhanna Andreasyan, Deputy Minister Artur Martirosyan, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia / European Union in Armenia Vassilis Maragos, ՀՀ Զբոսաշրջության կոմիտե/Tourism Committee of RA, Creative Europe Desk Armenia, EU4Culture, EUNIC Armenia, TUMO Center for Creative Technologies, as well as ASA Armenia.
During last year’s meeting, ASA was presented as a vision born from the EU-funded program. One year later, our community returned with established projects and active collaborations. In the context of EU-Armenia cooperation, it is especially meaningful that from the very beginning one of our key supporters and partners has been the Swedish Arts Grants Committee through the ArtNexus program.
ASA Armenia Director Seda Grigoryan spoke about the held in November, the research project “Cultural Consumption in Armenia,” aimed at developing data-driven cultural policy, and expert-community initiatives designed to support creators. One of the organization’s major achievements over the past year was the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, enabling ASA to directly participate in decision-making processes and provide digital tools that encourage collaboration across different sectors of the field.
💬 🇦🇲 Zhanna Andreasyan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports:
“Culture in Armenia can become a driving force for public development, and we can proudly state that it is not merely a sector that consumes resources, but one that offers society tremendous potential for creativity and the development of cultural production. I believe it is the responsibility of the state to create the right incentives for that potential to grow.”
💬 🇪🇺 Vassilis Maragos, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia:
“For the European Union, cultural dialogue with Armenia is far more than an exchange of traditions. It reflects our shared values — freedom, democracy, inclusivity, diversity, innovation, and the belief that cultural heritage and creativity build bridges between the past and the future.”
