So my friends… here’s a little true story from the early 2000s 😂😂😂I used to DJ in a strip club, before anyone gets excited, I was behind the decks, not on the pole! 🤣😂Back then, four nights there plus two weekend nights at a nightclub was around £500 a week… in my early twenties, I thought I was absolutely loaded 😂😂Anyway, the strip club was in a VERY respectable area… allegedly 🤣One night this old chap walks in. I knew his sons… and even his grandchildren! 😂Grandpa was living his best life, throwing £50 notes around like confetti. 🤣Then, about an hour later, he spotted me.The man nearly died. 😂😂😂He comes over and whispers…Look, I was brought here without my knowledge… please don’t tell anyone.🤣🤣I said, Don’t worry mate, your secret is safe with me. But looking around the room, I could already see people shouting his name. 😂😂😂

This is probably one of the most underrated pieces of equipment ever made. 🔥And no… you won’t find this one sitting quietly in NVK’s cave. 😂The Korg Electribe EMX-1 is still an absolute BEAST, even in today’s world of software, plugins, AI and ridiculously powerful modern hardware. I’ve been using this machine in so many of my productions over the years, and it just never fails to deliver. The EMX-1 is much more than a groovebox. You’ve got 9 drum parts and 5 synth parts, Korg’s MMT synthesis engine, loads of oscillator possibilities, filters, modulation, arpeggiation, motion sequencing and three simultaneous stereo effects processors. You can sequence everything, tweak parameters in real time and literally make the machine perform the track with you…And then there’s the secret weapon…VALVE FORCE. Those two actual vacuum tubes add that beautiful warmth, saturation, harmonic richness and outright aggression when you push the Tube Gain. It can take something already sounding good and give it that extra “WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?” character. 😂🔥

Funny how things come full circle in music. ☺️Back around 2003, I had Reason installed on my computer and honestly… it looked ridiculously complicated 😂 So I gave up and bought Cubase 3 instead. Started messing around with it and absolutely loved it. Then came Cubase SX3, and later Apple G4 → G5 with GarageBand, which was so much fun to learn on before eventually moving into Logic 7. Fast forward all these years… yesterday I got an email saying Reason is now giving the basic version away for free. Installed it again and WOW 😍 It works brilliantly inside Ableton and Logic as a plugin, and those Reason Racks are still absolutely 🔥

One of my favourite tunes of all time. A true timeless classic that never gets old. 🙏I’ve always had a special connection with this track, so I decided to put my own spin on it and make it my way. This is my take on “Children” — same emotion, my own sound and a little bit of NVK energy. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. ❤️🎶

Very often I see people being discouraged by their own circle from following what they believe in. My advice? Keep going. Keep following your path. People will judge you whether you do good or bad anyway 😂😂 So why worry about what they think? Focus on yourself, believe in what you’re doing, and keep moving forward. Your journey is yours, not theirs.
