This picture is as warm and colorful as the true people of Afghanistan's heart.
Always sharing and caring.

As different as we might look, it was easy for me to connect with afghans. They always do their best to make strangers feel welcome. I have no words to described what I've heard from friend stuck there, what I saw on social media and what I read on various articles. It's painful, they don't deserve this. Actually nobody deserve this. The suffering and the sadness is indescriptible.

Talibans are some of the worst terrorist there is on the planet. And not all of them are actually from Afghanistan.

Bear with me:

There are mainly four peoples in Afghanistan: the Tajiks, the Uzbeks, the Hazaras (of Mongolian origin, but speaking a Persian dialect with a Shiite majority), and the Pashtuns. The Uzbeks are present in the north as well as in Uzbekistan, the Tajiks speak an Iranian language and are in majority Sunni, living in the West, the North-East and in Tajikistan. The Taliban are mainly from the Pashtuns, estimated at 15 million inhabitants. The "hard core" of the movement comes from the southern Pashtun tribes, who supplied much of the refugees to Pakistan. Depending on their vicissitudes, the Taliban will gain and then lose the support of most of the Pashtun tribal leaders.

Originally, the Taliban were students of Deobandi religious schools established in refugee camps in Pakistan. During the Soviet withdrawal, they expand their activity on Afghan territory. They went left and start use guns early after they invaded Afghanistan. The regime imposed by the Taliban was based on a strict and literal respect for THEIR VISION OF Islam. They took over the country from 1996 to 2001. But got beat in 2001 the country never fully recovered from this nightmare were almost 500k people died. The army of the taliban at one point went up to 30k wannabe soldiers...

May Allah protect them🙏🏾

I look like somebody's uncle. And I actually like it. 👨🏾‍🎨😁

That being said... lemme tell you a bit about the city of Khiva. One of the important stops of the Silk Road in modern Uzbekistan.

This inner city is full of restored historic buildings and its pedestrianized center is a delight to wander. Its Islamic architecture has changed little since medieval times.

One of the best views of the city can be had from the top of the Islam Hoja Minaret which takes its name from the chief advisor to the two last Khans (kings) of Khiva.

The minaret’s platform stands 45 meters off the ground; the structure itself adds another 12 meters to the total, making it the highest minaret in the city. With its intricate brickwork and blue, turquoise and white mosaic stripes, the minaret reminds us of other ancient towers common in Central Asia.

《Insert East-African inspired quote》
SOOOO it's scary how fast time goes! Am I the only one to feel it?
We are in mid-march.
Despite having a sh*tty 2020 year I was looking foward to a brighter 2021. But it looks like the virus as left a HUGE emotional scare on a lot of my people. I heard some of the wildest stories recently, and I can often relate them as a result to covid global situation.
We all trying to adapt to this new era and I feel like being part of the lucky ones. But the way life has been altered by the pandemic is so intense and the future is so uncertain.... that it got my own therapist acting weird!
Anyway I'm glad to be soon on the road back to the continent soon... I need that travel therapy session!!!
I wanna feel life in a different way and connect with others in real life.

Be kind with yourself cause this ish is real but temporary!

The origin of the name Mali is unclear. Mali would come from the name of one of its iconic animals, the hippopotamus, which translates to mali in Bambara, Mandingo and Dioula. But indigenous people reject this "totemic etymology", claiming that "Mali is simply the name of their homeland and that they do not know its meaning". France renamed Mali the "French Sudan" during the period of colonization (The Nerves🙄😒). The same France which invents a pretext of war to extract uranium from northern Mali under the cover of military aid proctorship since 2010 (🤔saw it from my own eyes👁👁).
The history of Mali is deep and powerful.
This country which was once a vast empire, ambassador of Islam for West Africa, has so much to teach us.
Mansa Moussa, Kanga Moussa is the tenth "mansa" (king of kings) of the empire of Mali. Upon his accession to the throne, the empire extended from Senegal to present day Ghana.
Certain historian affirms that Mansa Moussa was the first to really discover America, Way before (liar) Columbus.
Mali, which is a geographical crossroads, is also a human crossroads. There are indeed many ethnicities. We can quote in particular: - the Bambaras: they alone represent the most numerous ethnic group in the country (3 million people). - the Malinkés: they live in the Mandingo mountains and are farmers or hunters (350,000 people). - the Bozos: they live along the river and are fishermen (300,000 people). - the Bobos: they live in the region of San. - the Dogons: numbering 300,000 people, this ethnic group is one of the best known in West Africa. - the Tuaregs, the Peuls.

Hey y'all!

I'm exited to share with you this Trip Advisor article on black travel family expert where Deïyna and I are featured

How many of you have travelled with their kids during these covid19 times?

Visiting Dakar, Senegal, felt like a trip under the sign of kindness and human warmth:

Take a boat tour in the pink lake meet the salt collectors. The water burns it's much saltier than the Dead Sea, so you can float. You can also fish in the delta by canoe.

Dakar is surrounded by beautiful island like: Gorée island “a must” for any visit to Dakar. A symbolic place in the memory of the slave trade classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Gorée is a haven of peace just a few minutes from Dakar.

N’gor and Madelaine island are also must seen island where you can relax before going back, wander in the middle of the street markets Kermel ,Tilène or the biggest one Sandanga and find traditional mask, handmade clothes or souvenir to bring back to family and friends. Learn about the cooking heritage, share a meal in the shade of a big tree or in one of the dope brunches spots in the city like “Terrou Bi sur la corniche” or “King Fahd Palace aux Almadies”.

Your visit will not be complete if you miss the biggest monument of west Africa, the African Renaissance Monument. A powerful statue on top of the highest hill of Dakar.

Self growth is scaaary!

Take everything you've learned and go deconstruction mode on it.

I've worked so hard in projects for years that are just seeing the light of the day, and they are so different from when I first started working on it, but I allowed myself to embrace changes.

I've trusted people with all my heart that disappointed me and left me to wondering where did I mess up! Only to remember that people will f**k up. Period. It's not so much what they do to you, not matter how f*ck up it is, It's more how you react to it. And move foward from it. Not everyone is meant to stay in your life forever, some are here for a chapter, some are here for couple lines of a paragraph and some will be there for the rest of the book.

I've failed so hard and so many time, it made me wonder if was forcing the wrong path....only to remember there not so much something as a wrong path but there is just my own journey to harmony and peace of mind...

I had people close to me committing su***de and I had a father who battled to spend another day with his wife and kids. There is a beauty in death, that I couldn't see before.

My energy is evolving to something different I'am and will always be grateful, my legacy is still building up and all my projects will do the talking for me in the future insh'Allah.

However if everything stop today, I will be more than grateful for everything I experienced and for the people I've loved.

I just felt inspired a bit... I promess you the w**d had nothing to do with it...

These kids are from the Solomon island... their hair are natural blond!!👱🏾‍♂️

The Solomon Islands form an archipelago of Oceania, located in Melanesia. They have the particularity of sheltering a population that is surprising to say the least and unique: the blacks with blond hair, called the Melanesians.
Many scientists attributed the blondness of the Melanesians to sea bathing coupled with exposure to the sun, and a diet rich in fish. Others argued that this was due to interbreeding with explorers or settlers from Europe. But a geneticist named Sean Myles is going to dismiss these theories out of hand. By studying the saliva and hair samples of 1209 blonde and brown Melanesians, he discovers a mutant gene called TYRP1. This gene, present in 26% of the Melanesian population, determines their blondness, and is totally different from the European "blond genes". The original population of the Solomon Islands being rare, the mutant gene was able to spread easily to the point that 5 to 10% of Melanesians are currently blond (same frequency as in Ireland for example). This natural blondness of Melanesians associated with their magnificent black skin gives them a unique charm which contributes to the beauty of the world.

First episode of "The Getaway" is out!
This mini webserie is all about the dumbest and funny and annoying situations we find ourselve in sometimes, while traveling on planes. Some of the episode are true stories... others are exaggerated. Nonetheless it was fun to film with the crew. And it got me out of my comfort zone. They will be out every Thursday. So don't hesitate to like and repost these in your story.

And of course let me know what you think??

My favourite heroe growing up was Dr Indiana Jones.
Not only because he was traveling all around the world but also because he was cultivated. He knew so much about people's culture and I thought that was dope in so many ways.
He's the one who got me into reading books and boxing!!!

When I was younger I thought I should get into boxing so I can beat up bad people and save the world while traveling. Fun fact is: I really got into quite few fights in my international journey😅 (this I'm not proud of) but nonetheless I was always a learner of the culture surrounding me in new environment.

Now what thing I learned recently was Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was once banned in India for its "racist portrayal of Indians and overt imperialistic tendencies." In particular, some Indians object to a scene showing monkey brains being eaten as a delicacy, as well the "black sleep of Kali Ma" potion that puts Dr. Jones in a trance.

Hollywood has a tendency to make the bad guy... the colour guy...

But I'm still grateful for the vision the characters gave to my life. He's my second biggest heroe right after my dad...

Don't miss the first episode of my travel Web story tomorrow!!!
I'm counting on y'all to share it to the maxx😉😉
