Organization Background
KYCSO which is a cultural and social organization was established in 2005 by number of active Afghan youth in Kabul city.
The organization was established due to the Human Rights unrespect, low level of awareness and many more problems which was acting as a ban against promotion and development of Afghanistan. In a war-stroke country which respect mostly tribal custom and tradition there are people who feel suffer, discomfort, troubles……..
Due to the mentioned problems a group of the activist Afghan youth decided to establish the Kabul Youth Cultural Social Organization in order to increase the capacity of youth, awareness level of people, community's development and inform people from their responsibility and obligation in the society. One of the most important aims of KYCSO is to stand against unjust and all obstacles which act as a ban to the development of the society.
Since 2005 KYCSO has done effective programs regarding community's development and capacity building. Within this period KYCSO has been trying to bring positive changes in ground of activities, and this was mostly to increase capacity level in various and serve people through the programs in cooperation of national and international organizations.
We are working for youths, community development, cultural, social, press, capacity building, and women in three departments:
1- Advocacy and Human Rights
2- Community Development
a. Education
b. Capacity building
3- Health and Environment
KYCSO is partner of some organizations like; Afghan Civil Society Forum (ACSF), Afghan Women’s Network (AWN), Rights and Democracy (R&D), Foundation for Culture and Civil Society (FCCS), ACBAR, and also KYCSO is working with Salam Organization, Just for Afghan Capacity and Knowledge (JACK), Afghan Woman Training & Development Organization (AWTDO) Ayaran Foundation and NASRT Foundation.
Our aims are to cooperate or work with national and international organizations to develop people's capacity and share the ideas in order to make a better community.
KYCSO's staffs are professional and most of them (90%) have university degrees and 40% are female who are working eagerly. Also staffs are trained in different organizations which work for capacity development of NGOs like: (ACSF), NDI, FES, BTRC, FIFA, FCCS, save the children and etc.
