31/12/2025
I don’t usually look back, but 2025 was special.
This year, a lot of doors closed. And others opened, some without any clear direction at all.
BazAct started by following my son’s love for film.
I didn’t set out to build a program. I just followed his passion. And somehow, that passion turned into BazAct.
I met the most incredible teens in our classes.
We taught them skills, craft, discipline.
But if I’m honest, I learned even more from them, about courage, vulnerability and showing up fully as yourself.
I connected with film and acting professionals. Some became part of the BazAct journey.
Some didn’t and learning what doesn’t align was just as important.
We launched classes with excitement.
Then I realized not every class was right for BazAct. So I canceled some. Paused others. And learned to trust my gut, even when it was uncomfortable.
Slowly, something beautiful formed.
A community. Teens cheering each other on. Supporting, collaborating, becoming friends in ways that feel deeper than just “classmates.”
This year, I found myself sitting on the jury for Dubai Communities Talent Quest and thinking: When did this happen? When did I become “the expert”?
There were moments of anxiety.
Self-doubt.
Tears.
I earned money.
I lost money.
I questioned whether the risk was worth it.
And then the kids asked for more.
Told me how much they loved BazAct.
How safe they felt here.
How seen.
That’s when I knew, this decision was right.
I saw who my real friends are.
I received support from people I never expected.
I understood, in a deeper way, what family and community really mean.
Even when we faced early challenges, parents didn’t walk away.
They didn’t complain.
They stayed.
They trusted us.
And that trust still humbles me.
As we move into 2026, I’m doing so with gratitude. With big plans and beautiful projects ahead.
Thank you to every teen.
Every parent.
Every supporter.
BazAct doesn’t belong to one person.
It belongs to everyone who believes in creating space for young people to grow, express and become.
