Kipras Petrauskas - Those Charming Women (2026 Interpretation In English)

Kipras Petrauskas (1885–1968)
The Legend & Tenor

Role: Opera singer (lyric-dramatic tenor).

Key Achievement: Often called the "King of Lithuanian Opera," he was one of the founders of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Legacy: Kipras had a massive international career, performing at the Bolshoi Theatre and across Europe. He was famous for his roles in Rigoletto, La Traviata, and Aida. His voice and charisma made him a national icon, similar to a modern-day rock star of his era.

Mikas Petrauskas (1873–1937)
The Pioneer & Composer

Role: Composer, organist, and choir conductor.

Key Achievement: He wrote and staged the first Lithuanian opera, Birutė, in 1906.

Legacy: Mikas was a tireless cultural activist. He founded the first Lithuanian music school and wrote over 150 musical works, including operettas and folk song arrangements. He spent significant time in the USA, where he organized Lithuanian musical life among the diaspora.
