When the body becomes testimony.
When movement speaks what words cannot.

The Quarry is more than a performance—it's an act of witnessing.

Created through a collaborative devising process, the work draws from the lived realities of quarry workers, transforming their strength, vulnerability, and daily struggle into a visceral language of movement and presence.

Rather than telling their story, we sought to embody the physical weight of invisible labor and ask:

Whose stories deserve to be seen on stage?

These images capture moments from our presentation at Bab El Bahr Forum on 14 July 2026 at Shelter Art Space—moments where bodies carried memory, resistance, and hope.

Theatre has the power to make the unseen visible. We hope these moments continue the conversation beyond the stage.

A Glimpse of The Quarry (Egypt / UAE)

On 14 July 2026, The Quarry was presented as part of Bab El Bahr Forum at Shelter Art Space.

The Quarry is a devising theatre performance that explores the harsh realities and daily risks faced by quarry workers. Devised collectively by the cast, the performance transforms real experiences into a physical and emotional theatrical journey, giving voice to those whose labor often remains unseen while revealing the strength, resilience, and sacrifices behind one of the world's most dangerous professions.
