The Courtyard Playhouse is more than just a theatre. It’s more than just a training centre. The Playhouse is an idea born out of a passion for improv, for creative expression and a desire to create a space where a community of theatre-lovers and practitioners can thrive. It is a home for the performing arts. Founded by Kemsley Dickinson and Tiffany Schultz in 2013, the Playhouse has grown and deve

loped into a multi-faceted organisation boasting a Theatre Academy, a Corporate Academy, weekly improv nights, National Theatre Live, children’s theatre and more… whilst still remaining a community at it’s heart. Nestled in Al Quoz, the creative heart of Dubai, among galleries and cafe’s, our facilities include state of the art equipment, a 60 seat auditorium, a 30 seat studio theatre and a rehearsal room. The Courtyard Playhouse Performing Arts Training Center is the first and only dedicated improv’ theatre and KHDA licensed training centre in the UAE. It is home to Theatresports Middle East, affiliated with the International Theatresports Institute. We pride ourselves on our authenticity, warmth and friendliness. Film Noir is a fully improvised mystery inspired by the classic black-and-white detective films, where every clue, suspect, and twist is created live on the spot.

Today was all about nerves, excitement, big laughs, and a whole lot of courage. 🎭✨
Our Don’t Panic and Story students took to the stage for their showcase performances, and we couldn’t be prouder. Watching everyone step outside their comfort zone, support each other, and bring so much energy to the room was an absolute joy.

One of the things we love most about these workshops is hearing from our students themselves about how these skills show up far beyond the stage — building confidence, creativity, communication, and connection in everyday life.

To everyone who performed today: thank you for making us laugh, cheer, and beam with pride. ❤️
