Humanity is living horrible times. After 2 rough years of Covid that tested our limits, now Russia invaded Ukraine, and the East of Europe is at War.
My neighbor is Ukrainian. Her mom hides in a basement with other people, and her friends run away, seeking shelter in Krakow, Poland. Kyiv is under bombardment, and innocent families with small children lost their lives in the streets because Russians have no mercy and kill them straight away.
I am proud that Romania hosts our neighbors, and we show solidarity.
Part of my family is in Bucharest, and the other is close to the Ukrainian border. They hear planes and helicopters at night.
It is frightening even for me that I live here in Dubai's safe bubble.
These past few days, I saw different posts from people asking if it is ok to party and have a good time when Ukraine is going through hell. I honestly don't know what to say.
But this morning, I posted an article on my blog called
10 Reasons Why Salsa is an Addiction
Maybe it's not a time to enjoy and dance, but I think it's good to keep our spirits high and not lose hope.
This article is a very personal story with a global community that does not discriminate in its center.
Us Salsa people were always united through our love and passion.
Because on the dance floor (and out of it), we NEVER care about our color, religion, or race, and it never mattered if we were Arabs, Christians, Chinese, black, or white.
And ideally, this is how our world should be - united in peace!
Peace!
