It was fun to have the SB Girls in the TAG 91.1 studios as a reminder that we women can be as silly, playful, sexy, and talented as we were or as we want to be even after motherhood takes over our identities. They still seemed very much like the performers I would watch with my Grande (my grandma), who watched Eat Bulaga every single noontime without fail, decades ago.

I asked how they were doing away from their families for this concert and she cheerfully said "ok lang, sandali lang naman at minsan lang to!!" (Its ok, its just for a while and not often). And I didn't even realize she was already walking away as I was left with my thoughts asking myself when was the last time I felt absolutely guilt-free for doing something just for me.

I know I'm not alone. A lot of mothers, parents, struggle with the thought of dedicating time to pursue passions that seemingly serve only themselves. But if that pursuit actually gave you your sanity, your confidence, and sense of achievement, that in turn would reflect in your parenting as well, right? So we can tell ourselves it serves our family as well.

In the end it's really just about finding that balance of giving your all to your loved ones without actually losing yourself. Something, as always, that's easier said than done.

Momma, here's to chasing your dreams without running too far from "home." 🥂 Now who's gonna "get get aw" in Abu Dhabi tonight?😅

OMG. Like I raaaarely ever sing on Tag 91.1 even for fun (compared to the other RJs) and the one time I decide to join, in the name of celebrating Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino, it had to be the one time when the artist, the insaaaaanely talented artist, actually notices the post 🙈🫠

That's a wrap for this year's Ramadan Reunion! And it's becoming an ARN tradition to have me host the gala dinner😅

Yes, we know, a couple of Eids have already come and gone for us to be having a Ramadan event, but with everything happening in the region we had to wait for the perfect time to make the family reunions we promised finally happen. We kept our word. And while it was a bit of a wait, it was a wait well worth it.

Hardly any dry eyes in the room again as we reunited families and friends who have been longing for each other for years but life and it's many challenges keep getting in the way.

That's why even if Im still a bit under the weather, I made sure I was a part of this event - but admittedly I struggled to hold in my cough for over an hour of yapping😅

If there's anything we can learn from this campaign it's that love, matched with persistence, can bridge any distance. That and we need some angels in our life to help make things happen. So when you can, be someone's angel.😇

Hats off to and the entire team behind this for a smooth event, bringing together 16 families from 9 different countries. And for taking good care of your host🫶🤗

Looking forward to next year!

To be fair...I gave them the cheesecake 😅 😂

Let me give you a glimpse of how things work behind-the-scenes for radio... one of the many duties of a station's Content Director is to work with the presenters in conceptualizing and executing show content. So, with any radio station, the director would hang with presenters (especially the breakfast show) to check on how things are going and what's next.
If you're lucky - like I am - you'll be able to build a team of creative, respectful, people who love what they do and know why they're doing it. Then your role becomes more of just guidance, because they'll be the ones with all the crazy ideas. The only catch is sometimes it's like lighting a fuse in a box of fireworks - while its a beautiful spectacle, you gotta be ready to do some firefighting😅
But I'm thankful that these are the crazies I get to work with each day - bursting with energy, enthusiasm, creativity, and humor (even on their darker days) - as long as there's good food😂

PS. The madness isn't limited to our breakfast team. It's a TAG 91.1 family prerequisite and I love all of em for it 😁
