On May 24th we had an artist takeove at .dxb and its a day I will never forget.

I brought together a curated selection of paintings from different eras. The “FEAR-LESS”, “One for the Pages” and “Marlis” collections and it came full circle when I got to perform in spoken word, the journal pages that inspired these collections.

We felt the feels from fear, the brutal truths of my inner turmoil and ended on a note of self-love.

I also put on a live fluid art show where you got to participate and mix paint and watch how it moved and transformed from a blank canvas to an explosion of colors.

This year has been a tough one for many of us and it was a gift that I could bring us together and experience a couple hours of magic.

So thank you, dearly, to everyone that came out and supported the arts, I feel so much gratitude.

To anyone that couldn’t make it, the art collection will be on display for a few more days till June 7th, so stop by and grab some delish dumplings and truffle noodles and enjoy the art in the space.

FEAR. TRUTH. NAME. is a solo exhibition showcasing a collection of original paintings each one inspired by a real journal entry. Things most of us feel but never say out loud.
The show opens this Sunday May 24th at 2pm at Mama B, JLT and stays on the walls until June 7th.
Sunday's opening is intimate and I want you there.

There's a spoken word performance, a live acrylic pour, a fun interactive game where you can win prizes, and Mama B's menu because we're not skipping the food.

On Wednesday 27 May at 2PM, I’m hosting an Acrylic Pour Workshop at Warehouse 34 Rooted, Alserkal Avenue, and you’re going to create a painting you actually made yourself.

Here’s how it works: you pick your colors, I walk you through the pour technique, and the paint does the rest. Every piece comes out completely unique. No experience needed, just bring your energy.

✦ 8×10 inch canvas to keep

I’ve been a part of a lot of group exhibitions in the last 20 years, but I have to say the grand opening of was like non other.

The energy in the room was unreal! The collective put together a lot of effort in a very short amount of time to bring it all together and I’m just glad I get to be a small part of it.

After the year we’ve had in Dubai, the creative scene has been massively impacted along with other businesses ofc. The community coming together in this space felt so alive and just the thing we needed.

Really hoping this is the first step to turning things around and let’s help keep the creative communities alive in Dubai by supporting your local artists.

Much love to everyone that came out to support the opening and I hope to see you again at the events that are lined up for the month.

Here's what happens when you set up to do a cute acrylic pour painting, and end up unpacking purpose, perfectionism, and what it actually means to choose a creative life!

That's exactly what went down when my friend came to my studio.

For 4 years I've been telling myself a story.
A story about the city I'm in.

The market that doesn't get me. The version of success I'd have if only I were somewhere else.

It brought me this far. It also kept me stuck.

Today I wrote about what happens when you finally decide to let the story go, and what you choose to tell yourself instead.
