Meet our headliner this Friday Doudou MD [Slapfunk | VBX] Doudou MD
Doudou MD is one of the most in-demand selectors coming out of Amsterdam right now. A regular across SlapFunk and VBX, her mostly-vinyl sets are rooted in 90s UK, US and German house and techno, driven by percussion, swing, rhythm and a strong sense of soul.
Born to a Dutch classical singer and pianist and a Congolese percussionist and drummer, music quite literally runs through her veins. Her approach has been shaped by years spent on dancefloors, digging records and developing a deep connection to the communities around her.
That foundation has taken her from Amsterdam’s underground to some of Europe’s most respected clubs and festivals, including Dekmantel, Dimensions, UNUM, Sunwaves, Gottwood, MOGA, Awakenings, fabric and The Loft, building a reputation based on selector craft rather than hype.
Her sound moves freely through house and techno, always groove-led and often stripped back, with an instinct for records that reward patience and work properly over long stretches of the night.
