Introducing Farah Khan, a UAE-based artist, photographer, visual storyteller, cultural curator, and Co-Founder & Creative Head of Funun Arts Group.
Her creative practice explores everyday moments, people, places, culture, and emotion through a deeply observant lens. Her work reflects her belief that photography is a powerful form of storytelling, capturing fleeting moments and preserving memories that might otherwise remain unseen.
Alongside her artistic practice, Farah has played a significant role in shaping Funun Arts Group’s creative vision and building inclusive platforms for artists worldwide. She is also the creative voice behind Foodbatuta and Dubai Culture Vulture.

She says about her featured photograph, “Ties that bind”, The chain becomes the central language of the image-strong, interwoven, and enduring. Behind it, a woman in an abaya moves quietly through the landscape, adding a human presence without revealing her identity.
Together, they suggest connection, belonging, and the unseen ties that link people to place, culture, and memory.

Together, these elements preserve a sense of place, memory, and cultural identity amid a changing world.

She says about her featured photograph, “Solitude ” What caught my eye was the striking red sofa-worn, slightly broken, and completely out of place against the weathered surroundings. Yet, its bold presence made it impossible to ignore. Perhaps solitude is not about being forgotten, but about standing quietly apart, carrying character and stories even when time has taken its toll.

MEET THE PARTICIPATING AWARD WINNING ARTIST | BEYOND THE LENS

Introducing Nazanin Kheirkhahan, is a Dubai-Based Photographer and Visual ArtisT With a solid foundation in Food Engineering and professional photography, this Dubai-based photographer and visual artist holds a Master’s degree in Food Engineering and is a graduate of the SAE Institute Dubai in Photography. Her diverse photographic practice encompasses portraiture, food, and fine art, emphasizing elements such as light, composition, atmosphere, and storytelling.

Her expertise in Food Engineering has provided her with a distinctive visual perspective, allowing her to appreciate food not only as an aesthetic subject but also as a cultural expression.

Through her lens, she transforms everyday moments into evocative images that encourage viewers to pause, observe, and connect with the scene.

Her featured photograph, “Still in order” is a wartime photograph from Dubai captures three workers calmly collecting water on a rainy day during an alert siren. Their composure highlights the resilience of everyday life, while the bright yellow uniforms symbolize hope against a gray backdrop. The image reflects my perception of Dubai as a safe, orderly city where life confidently endures, even in tough situations.

MEET THE PARTICIPATING AWARD WINNING ARTIST | BEYOND THE LENS

Introducing Fatima Al Amiri, is a Sharjah-based Emirati film photographer whose practice focuses on street photography, culture, and everyday life. Drawn to unscripted moments, familiar surroundings, and overlooked details, she captures people and places in their natural state, without staging.

Working with analogue photography allows her to slow down, observe attentively, and connect more deeply with her surroundings. Her work explores the relationship between people, place, memory, and identity, using film to preserve fleeting moments with intimacy and honesty.

Through her photographs, Fatima documents ordinary scenes while revealing the atmosphere, character, and quiet stories embedded within them.

Her featured photograph, “The chair awaits” is a familiar chair stands alone beneath the mountains of Fujairah, removed from the intimacy of home and placed within an expansive landscape. Its worn fabric carries traces of another place, transforming the chair into a quiet symbol of absence, belonging, memory, and return. A seat waiting without its sitter.

Introducing Deepa Girishkumar, a Dubai-based professional photographer with over seven years of experience, known for her creative approach to wildlife, travel, documentary, macro, street, and fine-art photography.

A self-taught photographer, she transitioned from a career in aviation HR to pursue her passion for visual storytelling. Her work has been recognised and published by platforms including National Geographic, Travel Africa, Paws Trails Magazine, and other international photography platforms.

She has received awards from prestigious photography competitions and serves as a photography judge and mentor. Through her lens, Deepa explores the relationship between people, nature, emotion, and the quiet stories found in everyday life.

Her featured photograph, “Oneness” was taken at the Bur Dubai Mosque during Iftar, showcases the spirit of togetherness as people from diverse backgrounds gather to break their fast. It captures a moment of unity, compassion, and shared faith.

In the background, a patient hyena waits and watches closely, hoping for an opportunity to claim the leftovers.
