World’s First Interactive Drone Show!

The 200+ drone show for Dinoterra 2024 by Geoscan made history! For the first time in the world, the spectators not only enjoyed the drone show in the sky, but also made changes to it themselves in real time.

Our in-house breakthrough technology allowed the visitors to modify the drone formations through the specially developed apps. When a little girl started painting the dinosaur on the pad, the drones immediately recreated this drawing in the sky. Or at some moment the crowd was asked to scream at the top of its voice. The louder they screamed, the more often the dinosaurs changed their colors in the sky.

Even watching this video is breathtaking. For those lucky enough to witness this interaction live, it felt completely unbelievable.

The Story of Our 24-hour Complete Show Overhaul

Usually, the crafting of a phenomenal display can span over several weeks. We've explored this topic in one of our preceding messages, and we'll drop the link in the comments for background. Yet, there are instances when the unavoidable demands of your client give you the directive, "We must revise everything," and declining is not viable given the pressing nature of the situation.

This was precisely the case as we geared up for a majestic stallion-decorated and quote-focused display for the Meydan World Cup 21 in Dubai. Prior to the concluding ceremony, the Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, tragically passed away, catching everyone off guard.

At this juncture, our clients presented what initially appeared as a Herculean task: to entirely revise the show in an incredibly short timeframe, transforming it into a tribute for His Highness. Such a retreat isn't typical of us. Our designers might not have been very pleased on that day, but a night of relentless commitment allowed us to accommodate the client's emergency need and guarantee the overall triumph of the event.

The finale went smoothly, with all audience members profoundly moved by the drone show we produced in association with the event organizers.

With this undertaking, we learned a priceless lesson: being adaptable is a significant trait that distinguishes your brand from others. In spite of cutthroat rivalry, when individuals comprehend that you won't fail them, they will consistently select your services.

To prepare for the drone show, our team needs to receive the cues from show caller. Safety is our top priority, so we never start a show until everything is confirmed to function as planned.

On one project we faced a tough situation. An event organizer told us when to start, but then made the event longer without telling us. We ended up waiting for an extra 40 minutes. This was a problem because it can drain the drone batteries.

As a result, our show manager had to negotiate a 10-minute intermission with the performer's team. He explained the details that require careful attention to ensure a successful drone show.
