Tailbone reaching back, chest reaching forward. You want to keep the spine long. Shoulder blades down the back so your shoulders don’t start to round with your reach. Unlocking the knees, especially if you’re hyperextended mobile(usually have a harder time feeling stretches in the muscles because of the hyper extension) alternating flexing and pointing if your legs get numb! (This is a sign of nerve tension and pointing the toes can help.)

ENGAGE YOUR CORE! (How many of yall have heard me yell that 😂)

This is how we warm up for class! Super short, not so sweet! Fire Core classes are designed to increase core strength, but also elevate heart rate and get blood flowing so we’re ready for our main class!

“Good Knees” really means “Strong Quads” Being able to fully extend your legs requires strength! If you find your legs bending in your lifts, try this exercise! Strengthening your quads not only helps with leg extension, it also offers support for your knees! So if your knees feel weak, focus on strengthening your quads! 💪🏾

If you are joining me for this split series you will need props! Now, the props are not mandatory, however, for best results grab them! Remember, classes are recorded for playbacks on off days! Core Strength is a necessity! It’s not optional. Which is why Core classes are included with all memberships! (& also recorded)

Things you’ll need:
Ankle weights
Fitness gliders
Foam roller (without ridges)
Long enclosed resistance bands
Yoga blocks

Improving Standing Splits requires strength! The reason you have your floor splits and not your standing split is because your trail leg is weak! Which can lead to misalignment in the body & injury! & of course, the goal is to avoid both!
