Burkina Faso’s brand-new Bobo-Dioulasso University Hospital Centre, inaugurated by Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has celebrated a historic milestone: the birth of its first baby!
On Thursday, March 26, 2026, a healthy baby girl weighing 3.7 kg was delivered via C-section in the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department a symbol of hope and progress for the community.
A mother shared her joy:
“Holding my newborn in this modern hospital, I cry with joy. I was born on a plantain leaf in our village with no doctor. Today my daughter is safe. May God save Ibrahim Traoré for giving me and my people hope.”
