✨ MTDXB is back. ✨

Two months into rehearsals for HAIRSPRAY… and this week we ran Act 1 in full for the very first time. 💃🔥

This isn’t just another show. It’s our 10th production and the start of our 5th anniversary year - and we’re doing it with a company of 58 incredible performers.

Even more special?
24 of them are brand new to MTDXB. 💙

Nearly half our cast are stepping onto the stage with us for the first time - and the energy they’ve brought is next level. To our returning family, thank you for setting the bar. To our newest faces, we’re so glad you’re here.

✨ The wait is finally over… and yes, we know, it’s been a long time coming – but good things take time, especially when the talent is THIS good! 💖🎭

After weeks of incredible auditions, tough decisions and more than a few “can we cast everyone?” moments, we’re beyond excited to finally introduce the cast of MTDXB’s 2026 musical production of HAIRSPRAY! 🌟

With a record number of ridiculously talented auditionees, choosing our biggest-cast-to-date of 60-or-so performers was no easy task – you blew us away at every turn. But today, the hairspray has settled… and our Broadway-sized cast is ready to shine! ✨🎶

We’re thrilled to announce our next MTDXB workshop with West End star Leanne Jones, who played the role of Tracy Turnblad in the original West End production of Hairspray, a performance that earned her the Laurence Olivier Award, WhatsOnStage Award, and Critics’ Circle Award! 🌟💜

Join Leanne on Sunday, 16th November at 11am at Sunmarke School, JVT for an exclusive Hairspray workshop where she will:
💫 Discuss the show’s characters
🎭 Read from the script
✨ Share her personal experience playing Tracy, the role of a lifetime!

Members of our Hairspray production team will also be there to answer your questions about the show and upcoming auditions.

Join us for a high-energy session where you’ll work on jazz progressions, kicks, turns, and a Broadway-style routine. Expect plenty of style, technique, and that signature Danielle flair!
