Nilufar returns to Abu Dhabi
Founded in Milan in 1979 by Nina Yashar, Nilufar has become one of the most influential galleries in international collectible design, bringing historical masters into conversation with contemporary designers through Yashar’s singular curatorial vision.

Across NOMAD’s editions, this approach has taken on new forms in response to different architectures, landscapes, and contexts. Bringing together works across periods, geographies, and disciplines, Nilufar’s installations create unexpected correspondences between objects, histories, and ways of making—each time forming a new constellation particular to its setting.
At the inaugural NOMAD Abu Dhabi last year, Nilufar extended this approach across an expansive presentation conceived for the setting, bringing historic figures such as Gio Ponti into dialogue with contemporary voices including Osanna Visconti, StudioDanielK, Etereo, and Christian Pellizzari. Returning to Abu Dhabi this November, the gallery continues that conversation with a new presentation shaped by material, craftsmanship, and encounters between different design traditions.
As NOMAD approaches its tenth anniversary, we look back at some of Nilufar’s most memorable presentations and at a collaboration that has unfolded across places and over time.
