In light of the challenges facing the UAE, the Gulf, and our neighboring regions, I felt compelled to share this piece as a gesture of care and solidarity.

From The Song of Sapphire Sands, a fictional world shaped by memory, land, and imagination, this poem is offered as a quiet tribute to our leadership, our communities, and those who continue to protect and hold us together.

As a creative, I use storytelling as a way to reflect and connect, while acknowledging that this work does not belong to any one place, but is inspired by the spirit of many.

A love letter.

There are bloodlines etched into sand and stone.
The Fort holds every one of them.

Raised within its walls, shaped by its winds,
they carry its breath wherever they go.

Dhabia moves with the path as it opens.
Shamma gathers memory and returns it to its source.
Hilal stands where decisions take form.
Suhail sees what waits beyond the visible.

Shams lives through them.
Its story moves with their steps.

When the horizon begins to tremble,
they are already in place.

The children gather around her, laughter in their hands, wonder in their eyes
Pearls pass from one palm to another, light moving between them

In Buddhariya, generosity begins before language
It lives in gesture, in presence, in the quiet act of giving
