CHAPTER 20: A Silent Guardian

"Mom! Dad! I am going hunting!" called out a young boy, around seven years old, with a handsome face, golden-brown hair, and striking blue sapphire eyes. He was dressed in a cowboy outfit, holding a small hunting rifle and a little bag.

"Okay, honey! But don't go too far! It is dangerous out there in the forest! Just hunt a little distance away from the ranch, okay?" shouted his mother from inside the house.

"Okay, Mom. I will!"

Isaac ventured into the forest, with his little hunting rifle and small bag in tow, intent on bringing back game for the family. The sky was clear and sunny, with clouds looming in the distance, hinting at impending rain. As he trudged through the underbrush, his keen eyes scanned for signs of movement.

He intended to hunt in the forest plains near his ranch, just as his mother instructed, but he couldn't find any game. Determined, he ventured deeper into the forest, hoping for better luck. Hours passed, and he still hadn't caught anything. Finally, he decided to head back home. But as soon as the thought struck him, the heavens opened, and rain poured down in torrents, drenching him to the bone. The familiar path he usually took quickly became a muddy, flooded mess, impossible to walk through. Forced to find an alternate route, Isaac ventured further into the forest, his senses heightened by the change in terrain.

As he navigated the unfamiliar path, a faint, desperate cry reached his ears. He paused, straining to hear over the pounding rain. The cries grew louder, filled with fear and urgency. Isaac's heart raced as he followed the sound, weaving through the trees until he reached the source.

Peering into a large hole near the base of an ancient tree, he saw a little girl struggling in the rising water. Her small voice was hoarse from shouting, her eyes wide with terror. Without a second thought, Isaac sprang into action. He quickly fashioned a rope from the vines hanging nearby, securing it to a sturdy branch.

Taking a deep breath, he lowered himself into the hole, the cold water biting at his skin. He reached the little girl just as the water was threatening to engulf her completely. Wrapping his arms around her, he lifted her out of the water and hoisted her to safety.

"Don't worry, you are going to be alright. You are going to be just fine. Don't worry... I am here," Isaac whispered, his voice steady despite the fear gripping his heart and the shiver from the cold due to the rain. The little girl's eyes met his, her gratitude evident even through her exhaustion and pain. Isaac felt his heart skip a beat as he stared at the pretty little girl's face. He felt his heartstrings being pulled by her beautiful black eyes, and he felt a strong connection toward her, a feeling he had never experienced before.

But then he wondered how she had ended up in the hole in the middle of the forest. So he said, "Hey, little lady, what were you doing here? Don't you know that this is a dangerous place? If I hadn't been passing by and heard your crying and shouting, you could have drowned and died. Luckily, I saw some bouncy vines and made a bouncing rope out of it and tied them to the tree so that I could swoop in and pick you up as they bounced back." The little girl just softly shook her head and whispered, "Thank you."

Isaac held her close, shielding her from the relentless rain. "It's okay, little sweeches. I'll get you out of here in no time. Just hold on," he murmured, more to reassure himself than her, before the little girl lost consciousness.

Isaac, with the little girl cradled in his arms, navigated through the dense forest, rain pouring down relentlessly. He pressed on with determination, his small frame carrying her through the mud and underbrush. The storm showed no signs of relenting, but neither did Isaac. He had to get the little girl to safety.

After what felt like an eternity, Isaac finally emerged from the forest, the village lights flickering in the distance. He rushed to the nearest house and frantically knocked on the door. The villagers quickly gathered, and soon an ambulance arrived to take the little girl to the hospital. Isaac, drenched and exhausted, kept his distance, watching as the medics took the little girl away. He slipped into the shadows, making sure no one noticed him and followed.

At the hospital, the little girl's parents arrived in a panic, relieved to see their daughter alive. They asked about her rescuer, but no one knew who the mysterious boy was. Isaac watched from afar, his heart filled with a mix of relief and longing. He had saved her, but he couldn't bring himself to reveal his identity. He also learned the little girl's name: "Patricia," he whispered as he watched her parents rushing to see her in her room. Then he turned and left.

Years passed, and Isaac continued to watch over Patricia from a distance. They attended the same schools from kindergarten to high school, and although he was always nearby, he never approached her directly. He admired her from the sidelines, his feelings for her growing stronger with each passing day.

Whenever Patricia found herself in trouble, Isaac was there, silently ensuring her safety. Whether it was standing up to bullies who tried to intimidate her or thwarting those who sought to take advantage of her kindness, Isaac was her unseen protector. He kept his distance, his love for her manifesting in quiet, selfless acts.

High school came to an end for him since he was Patricia's senior by four years, and it was graduation day. Isaac, for the first time, allowed himself to hope that he could finally confess his feelings to Patricia. That night, he attended a friend's party and, emboldened by a few drinks, decided it was time to tell her how he felt.

With a racing heart, he made his way to Patricia's home, only to find the house dark and empty. He knocked on the door, but there was no answer. Confused and disheartened, he realized that Patricia and her family had left for a sudden trip. The opportunity to confess his feelings slipped through his fingers, leaving him standing alone in the night, the weight of his unspoken love heavy on his shoulders.
...

Isaac was jolted from his reverie by Patricia's worried voice.

"Isaac? Are you alright?" She gently shook his hand, bringing him back to the present.

"Oh, sorry, Patricia. I was just lost in thought," Isaac replied, slightly embarrassed, realizing he was still holding her hand. He quickly let go, the moment turning awkward.

Patricia offered a small smile. "It's okay. Let's get going."

They both boarded the car and headed back to town. The drive was mostly silent, each lost in their own thoughts. Patricia was reluctant to involve Isaac in her dangerous mission. She worried that since he was already involved with the people she wanted to take down, he could complicate things for her. However, she knew she needed all the help she could get to gather the evidence to bring Ricardo Montenegra down. Isaac, being a federal agent with years of experience hunting down cartels, could navigate this game far better than she could. So she needed him, even if it meant things might get more complicated.

As they reached town, Patricia turned to a side street and stopped the car. Isaac didn't need her to say anything to understand that she wanted him to step out. He knew the situation was complex and didn't pressure Patricia to involve him further. He was willing to wait for the right time to prove that she needed his help.

As he was about to step out of the car, he heard her sigh loudly before saying in a low, soft voice, "Meet me at the old warehouse on 5th Street at 10 PM tomorrow night."

"I'll be there," he replied, then exited the car.

Patricia gave him a grateful look before driving off. Isaac watched her car disappear down the street, his lips curving into a smirk. He put on his shades and started walking down the street towards another car with tinted windows that had been following them. Upon entering, he looked at his subordinate and said, "We're in."

Upon arriving home, Patricia was ready for a long shower and some much-needed rest. The adrenaline of the day had taken its toll on her. However, as she reached her yard, someone jumped on her and hugged her waist from behind. Patricia didn't need to turn around to know who it was, her stomach churned with disgust.

She took a deep breath and turned to face Jonathan, her scumbag boyfriend. He flashed her his usual charming smile, but Patricia's stomach churned as she pretended to be pleased to see him.

"Hey, babe. I missed you," Jonathan said, wrapping his arms around her.

Patricia forced a smile. "Jonathan, what a surprise! I didn't expect to see you here." She leaned into his embrace, playing the part of the devoted girlfriend, while inside, she was seething with rage.

"Well, I wanted to surprise you! I heard that you moved out of your friend's house and you didn't tell me. So I had to beg and plead with Nicole to tell me where you moved to because for some reason she didn't want to tell me," said Jonathan, pouting his lips to show his disappointment.

"Oh, sorry, my love. Everything happened so fast that I forgot to tell you. Please forgive me, babe. But here you are! Let's go inside, shall we?" Patricia said, ushering Jonathan inside.

"Wow, damn! You live here now? This place is huge and beautiful! I can't believe your father hid such a beautiful place from you for so long. This place must have cost millions of dollars!" Jonathan exclaimed after touring the house.

"This place will be perfect for our kids. I can imagine them running and playing around. I guess we better get ready to prepare a playroom for them," Jonathan added.

Patricia felt bile rising in her throat at the mention of having kids with him. She wanted to tell him off then and there, but needed him for her plan and revenge, so she decided to keep her cool. "You are right. That would be great," she said.

Then she ushered him to the living room and said, "Why don't you settle in, and I'll go freshen up and prepare dinner."

"Okay, babe. But where are your siblings? Will they be joining us for dinner as well? You know Alisha and I don't get along," Jonathan said.

"Don't worry about it, babe. Alisha and Zach went out to study at a friend's house. They will be back later. So relax, I'll be right back," Patricia replied.

Jonathan watched as Patricia disappeared upstairs to her bedroom. Instead of sitting on the lavish couch, he started snooping around. He saw a small golden and silver bowl displayed in the hallway. He went back, took it, and hid it inside his coat, planning to pawn it for cash later. The house was filled with expensive items he could steal and sell.

As he continued his survey, he found a small incense burner coated with gold and silver back in the living room. Just as he was about to take it, his phone buzzed with a message. He pulled it out and immediately his face paled. He saw pictures of him being intimate with some of his lovers, with the words 'I WAS WATCHING YOU' written in bold letters. Another message popped up with pictures of him stealing the golden and silver bowl and the words 'AND I AM STILL WATCHING YOU.'

"What the fu...?" Jonathan muttered and he could feel his body turning cold because of fear. 'Who? What? When?'

"Is something wrong?"

Jonathan was startled out of his thoughts by Patricia who suddenly showed up. He could feel his heart racing in panic, so he quickly put his phone away, trying to regain his composure.

"Is everything okay, Babe? You don't look so good." Patricia asked, feigning concern.

"No, it's nothing, Babe. Just a work thing."

Patricia nodded, hiding her satisfaction. She knew her revenge plan was in motion.

"Okay, I'm going to prepare dinner now. Do you want to join me?" Patricia asked.

"Aaah...You know what, babe? I'll help you make dinner some other time. Something just came up at work, so I have to go now," Jonathan replied.

"Oh, just like that? Oh... okay. But can't it wait until tomorrow?" Patricia asked.

"No! Unfortunately, it's urgent. I have to go," Jonathan said.

"But..." Before she could finish, Jonathan hugged her and said, "Thanks for understanding, babe. Love you! Bye!"

He dashed out of the house, and quickly made his way to his car, the adrenaline pumping in his veins. Before he reached his car, he paused to survey the area, looking for any possible places where someone might be watching him. After a few tense moments, he boarded his car and drove away like a ghost was chasing him.

Patricia watched from an upstairs window, a satisfied smirk playing on her lips. Her plan was working perfectly. She knew Jonathan would be paranoid and desperate to cover his tracks, making him more susceptible to her next move. "Just you wait...you haven't seen anything yet. I am just getting started." Then she broke into a wide sinister smile.

CHAPTER 19: A dangerous allure

Patricia's heart raced as she gazed deeply into Isaac's eyes, her lips lightly touching his. The moment felt surreal, almost dreamy, and her stomach fluttered with tiny butterflies. This was a new sensation for her, something she'd never experienced, not even with her first boyfriend Richard or with Jonathan. Although this wasn't quite a kiss, it felt like a first kiss, and she found herself surprisingly enjoying it. She even began to imagine what it would feel like if it were a real kiss, their lips moving in sync, their tongues exploring each other's mouths. How sweet would it taste?

Patricia was jolted out of her thoughts by a chuckle from Isaac. His mischievous eyes and smirk made her heart skip a beat as he whispered against her lips, "Wow...I guess I didn't need to use my charms after all. Ms. Milton, it seems you've already fallen for this handsome knight. Too bad...I don't like women who are easily gullible and swayed by swine in cool suits and shades. That's a dangerous sign. It means they're too easygoing and too trusting. I expected more from you. Tsk...too bad..."

His words felt like a bucket of cold water had been poured over her. 'Me? Gullible? Easygoing? Too trusting? Is he calling me dumb and naive? Dumb and naive!!' "Aaaah!!!" Isaac yelped as Patricia suddenly sat up and hit his chest hard. "Oww...damn, Sweeches, stop hitting your handsome knight...what kind of princess are you?"

"The kind that is not dumb and naive! If you think that just because you saved me, I will be swooning all over you, think again, Mr. Agent! I'm not interested in you! I've already had my fill of disgusting swine, so I'm well-versed in that department, thank you very much! If you think you can sweep me off my feet because you're some kind of hero, guess again. I am not easily gullible or swayed by macho muscles with brains the size of peanuts. So try to lure me all you want, but I am not interested," Patricia declared.

She moved out of the car and stood with her back to Isaac to hide the embarrassed blush on her face. She knew that what she had just said was nonsense, and that she was indeed starting to feel something for this man, something dangerous and yet alluring. But the man had just called her feelings dumb and naive. 'Who does he think he is? Anyway, let me forget about it and throw him out of my mind. I cannot have any distractions right now; I need to concentrate on my mission, and this man is a sure distraction. Just ignore him, Patricia, and focus on what you need to do. Since he has been following me, he must know something...and that is not good. I don't want a nosy agent poking his nose into my business, or this entire mission will crumble before it even begins. I must find out what he knows and try to lure him away, for both his sake and mine,' Patricia thought. Then she turned around and faced Isaac, who was watching her with a piercing gaze. She quickly averted her eyes and cleared her throat before asking, "What do you want from me? I thought we agreed to stay out of each other's business. So why are you still spying on me?"

Isaac shook his head and sighed. "Do you like milkshakes?"

Patricia looked at him, baffled by his question. Isaac didn't reply but gave her a dashing smile.
..

"Here are your orders. One chocolate milkshake and one strawberry ice cream. Please enjoy," said a waiter as he placed their order on the table in a café a few miles away from Jethro's auction house. Patricia thanked the waiter and took hold of her ice cream bowl. She dipped her spoon, scooped some, and savored it. The taste was heavenly, and she subconsciously let out a moan of satisfaction as she licked the spoon clean.

She opened her eyes and saw Isaac looking at her intently. Realizing what she had done, she blushed slightly and said, "What? Why are you looking at me like that? I haven't had ice cream in a long time, and I truly missed it." She pouted cutely and started swirling the spoon around the ice cream bowl. Isaac looked at her in disbelief before bursting out laughing. Patricia glared at him, feeling a little embarrassed, then pouted her lips in anger and turned to gaze out the window.

Isaac stopped laughing and said, "Wow...I swear I've never met someone so cute and adorable. Let me tell you something, Sweeches." He took a long sip of his milkshake and continued, "If you use that as a weapon, those disgusting swine won't know what hit them. I have to say, I'm impressed. Guess you're not that dumb and naive after all...owwww!" He was interrupted by a firm kick from Patricia.

"Call me dumb and naive one more time, and I swear the next kick will be at your 'tree of life.' Got that?" Patricia said in a low, angry voice as her eyes bored holes into Isaac's forehead.

Isaac gulped, liking the fire inside Patricia. His little Sweeches wasn't so gullible, dumb, and naive after all. Although he knew it, he wanted to test her by pushing her buttons. He wanted her to understand that the game she was playing was not a video game but a real game where people got hurt and killed without extra lives. If you were done for, you were done for, with no turning back. So he felt it right to protect his little lamb even when she thought she didn't need him.

Isaac rubbed his leg, chuckled, shook his head, and raised his hand in defeat. He took another sip of his milkshake and remained quiet. Patricia softened her gaze and went back to enjoying her ice cream. After a while, she said, "Please don't get involved. I know what I'm doing, and I don't need anyone else to be involved. Just focus on your own investigations and stay out of mine."

Isaac remained silent for a while, drinking his milkshake. Then he said, "I am doing my investigations, Sweeches, and you just happen to be a part of them."

He looked outside and continued, "For years, I've been going after the notorious drug-dealing and human trafficking cartels, but the devils always find a way to slip out of my hands. Every time, I'm brought back to square one, and those bastards are still running free. Free to cause harm and havoc in the world by killing and exploiting innocent lives for their pleasure. I've lost a lot of good men and women fighting these bastards, and the situation keeps getting worse. It pains me that, even with the power to stop it, I can't. I'm rendered useless by those bastards." He slammed the table in anger, took a deep breath, and continued.

"I had lost all hope in the sense of justice, especially in the corrupt systems that govern our world. I was ready to take matters into my own hands and finish this cat-and-mouse game once and for all. So I started going undercover at some of the illegal underground clubs as a customer to get a glimpse of their world and see their plans and shady activities. For months, I went home empty-handed until one night...something unusual happened..."

Patricia's ears perked up at his words. Isaac looked at her and said, "I went to one of the illegal underground clubs in the city, where my sources told me Mr. X would be. I saw him enter the club, and after a while, a guy showed up who I knew must be one of Mr. X's contacts. As I was about to approach him, a waitress did first, and they were soon caught up in a conversation. Before I could speak to him, another guy took the man and the waitress to another part of the club, meant for the exclusives, so I couldn't follow them. I felt sorry for the waitress. With all my years investigating Mr. X, I knew that girl wasn't going to come out alive or without a missing persons report. But to my utmost surprise, I saw the waitress return to her duties. I was shocked she was alive but still not confident because I had a hunch Mr. X wanted to deal with her outside the club. I followed her, and surprisingly, nothing happened as I imagined. So I got interested and discovered she was an invaluable asset... and here we are."

Patricia remained silent for a few moments, then sighed and said, "So it wasn't a coincidence you showed up to my rescue that night at the cemetery. You were actually following me...I should have known," she said, sounding a little disappointed.

"Anyway, I'm still not going to involve you in anything. This is my fight, and I don't want anyone else involved. Your involvement will put me at great risk. These people know you and know you're after them, so you'll jeopardize my mission. But to repay you for saving my life, I can promise to provide you with information and evidence when I get my hands on it. But I don't want you involved, so please don't make things difficult for me."

Then Patricia saw some men getting out of a car, and she immediately recognized them as the men Alisha had shown her when she was being discharged from the hospital. They were the men Jethro had asked to keep an eye on her. She saw them roaming around the area, probably looking for her. When she saw them about to approach the café, she immediately grabbed Isaac's hand and ducked under the table.

Then she surveyed the room and saw another exit from the café on the other side. So as she saw the men about to enter the café. She immediately dragged Isaac and ran to the other exit and they exited the café. They went and hid behind a car in order not be seen through the window.

"Who are they? And why are we running?" asked Isaac.

"Shhhh!! They will hear us!" Patricia whisper-shouted as she watched the men roaming inside the café. When she saw them looking away from the window, she quickly dashed with Isaac in tow towards her car parked on the other side of the street. As they were about to enter the car, she saw them exiting the café and roaming the area again. They quickly ducked so they wouldn't be seen. All the while, Patricia was still holding Isaac's hand.

Isaac felt a warm feeling engulf him as he looked at Patricia trying to protect him. It seemed they both had the same noble feeling of protection for each other. They both wanted to keep each other safe despite their differences.

Patricia saw the men moving away to look at another area. She released a sigh of relief and said, "They are gone... Those were Jethro's men. He assigned them to keep an eye on me. Now you see why I don't want you to get involved..."

Patricia's words got stuck in her throat the moment she turned her head and faced Isaac. She saw him staring beamingly at her with his blue eyes holding a lot of unexplainable emotions. Isaac looked deep into Patricia's eyes and tightened his hold on her hand.

After he saved her from the hole all those years ago, he felt an uncontrollable connection towards her. At first, he thought it was a sense of duty to protect her, but as the years went on, it slowly turned into something more. However, he was a coward to confront his feelings and confess them to the girl who had captured his heart all those years ago. So instead, he always watched her from the sidelines as she grew up to become the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.

Unbeknownst to Patricia, Isaac even went to the same schools she attended from kindergarten to high school and would always watch her from the sidelines, sometimes even protecting her from danger. But he never had the courage to face her and confess his feelings. When he was drunk one day after attending a friend's party, he suddenly got the courage to confess to her and make himself known. But when he arrived at her home, he found nothing except a ghost house with no living soul inside except for dust and mice.

Isaac looked at Patricia, his heart beating fast with yearning. Now that she was finally in his life again, he was never planning on letting her go...never again.

CHAPTER 18: The kiss

"Well I don't care what you do!! Just get them back!! Otherwise I am roasting you for lunch and feeding you to the damn pigs!!" Yelled Jethro and he slammed the phone into the wall and screamed, "Son of a bitch!!! I swear I am going to kill him!!" And he threw some of the documents on his desk on the floor in anger. This was in his office at the auction house. And after he threw the documents on the floor, he stood up and grabbed the computer on his desk to throw it on the floor, but before he could do it a knock was heard on the door. "What!!!" He Yelled.

"Ummm...Sir...there is someone here to see you..", a small voice rang from the other side of the door. "Well tell them to go away!! I am busy right now!!" Yelled Jethro. "Busy enough not to even see me." A sweet voice rang from the door and soon after the door opened to reveal Patricia in a beautiful tight yellow knee length dress that shaped her body figures perfectly, with white heels. She was wearing light makeup and her hair was loose and flowing down her back and shoulders. Her neck was adorned with a beautiful diamond necklace, and she was carrying a white purse. Patricia approached Jethro's desk and surveyed the office and she saw a broken phone which looked like it has been smashed into the wall, some documents scattered on the floor and a toppled down chair. "Looks like you truly are busy.....trashing the place..." said Patricia and she looked at Jethro who now had an embarrassed look on his face.

Jethro cleared his throat and said, "I wasn't expecting anyone today and most especially you my beautiful doll." Patricia smirked and said, "I can see why. Are you having a bad day Sir?" "Well I am....but since you are here...I guess my bad day just turned from being sour to sweet." And he paused for a moment and looked at Patricia with eyes filled with burning lust as he roamed them up and down her body. "And you truly look like a sweet treat.." then he smiled. Patricia lightly chuckled and said, "You flatter me Sir...but....I am afraid...I can no longer offer you my services... since you proved to me that you don't deserve them...but anyway...I am actually here for business." Then she took out a cheque from her purse and gently placed it on the desk in front of him.

Jethro looked at Patricia for a brief moment and then reached out for the cheque and took it and asked, "What is this?". "That's 5 million dollars. $3 million for my membership in the club and $2 million for that horse..Lightningbolt. I don't care who bought him but I am pretty sure that $2 million is more than enough to retrieve it", said Patricia and she went and took a seat on the sofa at the office's lounging area and said, "Are you not satisfied with my offer Sir? You know I can easily find someone else to do business with since you seem not interested." Jethro did not reply but went and took a seat on the sofa opposite Patricia and said,

"Patty..Patty...my sweet beautiful doll. I am actually quite surprised with this. I thought you were a w***e working in a night club to earn some free lance...but I guess I was wrong...you are someone else completely. Although I am curious about something.....how did you know about the club....that's a secret that only... special type of people know about. So how did you know.....?" And he leaned in his seat and stared at Patricia intently.

"You mean special people like the derby racers", then she chuckled and continued, "You might say that I had a little birdie that told me...." "You are Patricia Milton aren't you....Simon Milton's daughter..." remarked Jethro and he smirked. Patricia did not reply but kept staring at him. Jethro chuckled and said, "I had an idea....when my men gave me the information about you but I just didn't want to jump into conclusions since the information didn't mention you being the daughter of that racer. But now all the pieces are coming together.....but I didn't think that Simon Milton was such a bastard by letting his daughter work as a w***e to earn a living but...how did you get so rich all of a sudden..did you stumble upon a gold mine or what...?"

Patricia felt a heat of anger burning up inside of her the moment that Jethro called her father a bastard but she decided to keep it cool since she wanted to use him to get into the club since she heard that in order to become a derby racer with many supporters she needed to be part of the derby racers' club, 'The golden horse ' was it's name. It was formed by the world's first derby racers 250 years ago when derby racing became a sport. The world champion will be the leader of the club and all it's branches, thus making Riccardo Montenegra the leader of the club. Her father was the Vice leader since he was the second world champion but since he died someone else succeeded him. The club was formed and started on honest grounds but now with Montenegra as it's leader.. it is now a breeding ground for all illegal activities and she was determined to find out everything and gather all the evidence to bring them down.

"I see you did a little digging on me. Yes....I am Patricia Milton...Simon Milton's daughter. The world's second best derby racer. And I didn't tumble upon a gold mine but my father left me some.....interests but...I got to discover about it....a little late. But that's not what I am here to talk about" said Patricia and she leaned forward in her seat and continued, "I want to be a derby racer and you...my dear Sir...are going to help me to become one." "And how do you suppose I am going to do that?", asked Jethro. "By introducing me to your friends. I know you are part of the club since you were once a derby racer yourself but due to an undisclosed injury...you retired but you are still part of the group because the leader trusts you so much at least that's what I think. " said Patricia and she slumbed back into her seat. "Mmmm...but....why do you want to be a derby racer (chuckling), do you even know how to race? I mean no offense but...you are a..." said Jethro.

"A woman! Yes I know...what you mean. You think that because I am a woman I am incapable of doing such a sport. But let me assure you Mr Morales....you will be very much surprised. You, yourself confessed that I am not ordinary, so why don't you give me a chance and I can show you how much more I can...surprise you." Said Patricia and she leaned forward again in her seat and asked, "So what do you say...do we have a deal." Jethro leaned back in his seat and started rubbing his chin in thought and then he asked, "What are you going to gain if you become a derby racer. What is driving you huh...I am curious to know...why a beauty like you instead of using her inheritance to live a good and fancy life...you want to be a racer? Tell me why huh..."

Patricia took a deep breath and replied, "I want to carry on my father's legacy. I know it sounds....sentimental but....I want to do that." Then she looked down and pretended to be emotional, "My father loved derby racing.....he even died on that track...so...I want to honor his memory by carrying on his legacy....I owe him that much..." and she pretended to sniffle back some tears. Jethro did not know why but he was moved and without thinking he went and sat beside Patricia and wiped her fake tears with his handkerchief. Patricia silently smirked knowing that her little show worked and thanked Jethro and took the handkerchief from him and wiped her eyes with it.

Jethro sighed and said, "Ok my beauty. I will help you but...I need to talk to some friends first and if they agree...I will inform you." Patricia smiled and replied, "Thank you Mr Morales..." but she was interrupted as Jethro suddenly pulled her into a smearing kiss. Patricia was caught by surprise and before she could react by struggling to free herself from his hold, Jethro disengaged himself from the kiss and said, "That's the proper way to say thank you. And damn... that was sweet." And he licked his lips. Patricia felt like vomiting right then and there, the pig just stole a kiss from her but since she needed him she kept her calm and decided not to land a slap across his face although she was aching to. She then gently stood up from her seat and said, "I will be waiting for your call" and without waiting for Jethro to stand up she quickly strode out the office and exited the building. She went straight to the parking lot, to her brand new car which she had bought a week after she was discharged from the hospital and claimed the $800 million.

As she approached her car, a chill ran down her spine. She sensed someone following her. Her heart raced as she reached the car, and she saw the shadow of the person getting closer. Pretending to fumble with the car door, she sneakily reached into her purse and gripped the pepper spray. The footsteps grew louder, and just as the person was about to reach her, she spun around and aimed the spray at them.

To her dismay, the person wore shades and dodged swiftly, grabbing the pepper spray from her hand. He held her firmly by the waist, but Patricia wasn't one to be easily subdued. She stomped on his foot with her heel and elbowed him in the stomach, breaking free from his grasp. She snatched the pepper spray back and aimed it at him, her eyes blazing with determination.

The man groaned, "Owww, that hurts like hell."

"Who are you?! And what do you want from me?!" Patricia yelled, her voice trembling with a mix of fear and anger.

"Oww, damn, Sweeches... first you beat my ass, and now you yell at me... jeez, don't you think I deserve a break?" the man said, wincing.

"Sweeches...? Wha...?" Patricia exclaimed, stepping closer and yanking off his glasses. Her eyes widened as she met the striking blue gaze of Agent Phillips.

"Agent Phillips?! What are you doing here? And why are you following me? Are you spying on me?" Patricia demanded.

Isaac groaned, "It's my job, Sweeches... besides, I thought I could be your personal bodyguard, but hell... I'm regretting it now... seems like you don't need a bodyguard at all... oww," he groaned again.

Patricia placed the pepper spray back in her bag and opened the car door, helping him into the backseat. After he settled in, she stood in front of him, her expression softening slightly. "I'm sorry for that... but you shouldn't have sneaked up on me like that. I thought you were trying to harm me like those thieves, and I reacted the best way I could to defend myself."

"Well, that's good... I'm glad you're no longer dumb like you used to be and are now more cautious... owwww," Isaac said, only to be interrupted by Patricia kicking his leg hard.

"Dumb?! Did you just call me dumb?! I think you deserve another beating!" She continued to hit him, this time on his shoulders.

"Ow! Ow! Ow! Stop! You're injuring my beautiful, handsome body! How will I completely make you fall for me if you injure me like this?" Isaac protested.

"Urrrrg!!! You are so annoying!!!" Patricia exclaimed, continuing to hit him until Isaac held her hands firmly and pulled her towards him. She landed on his chest, and their eyes widened as their lips brushed against each other. Time seemed to stop as they looked deep into each other's eyes, their hearts beating fast in unison. It was like a scene in a romantic movie, and strangely, they both liked it...
