: Born in Marondera, Ronald "Thuga Thuga" Chimombe is a comedian taking Zimbabwean comedy to new heights.

Born and raised in Marondera, Zimbabwe, Ronald Chimombe, professionally known as "Thuga Thuga", has built his name as a comedian, content creator, and storyteller. He is best known for his "Thuga Thuga" character a street-smart, outspoken persona that captures township life with humor and honesty. Using a mix of Shona, English, and Zim slang, he turns everyday stories about school, family, relationships, and the hustle into comedy that resonates across the country.

Thuga Thuga first gained attention through skits on TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube, where his relatable content quickly went viral. His breakthrough came with a feature On The Spot with DJ Ollah, where Ronald Chimombe shared details about his Marondera upbringing, education, family, and how the Thuga Thuga character was created. The interview introduced audiences to the person behind the laughs and positioned him as one of the new voices shaping Zimbabwe’s digital-first comedy scene.

With a growing following online and live performances in Harare and beyond, Ronald "Thuga Thuga" Chimombe continues to represent Marondera on national platforms. His goal remains to keep his comedy authentic, make Zimbabweans laugh, and show that talent from Marondera can compete on any stage. Thuga Thuga is proof that with consistency and real stories, local talent can reach a national audience.

: Marondera Celebs Calls for Clear Performance Agreements to Support Local Artists

Marondera Celebs has launched a community dialogue on the role of promoters in developing local talent, with a call for greater clarity and professionalism in the entertainment industry.

The discussion follows concerns raised by artists about lack of payment and uncleart expectations. While acknowledging that stage opportunities at venues such as PaGomo and Zimnhaka, along with online exposure, are vital for launching careers, Marondera Celebs notes that a platform alone does not constitute full promotion. True promotion includes marketing, financial investment, and ongoing artist development. The organization also emphasizes the need to distinguish between an Event Host, who provides performance opportunities, and a Career Promoter or Manager, who invests in an artist’s brand over the long term.

To address these challenges, Marondera Celebs is proposing a community roundtable to develop simple, fair, and standardized performance agreements for local shows. The aim is to build a professional, supportive, and sustainable model unique to Marondera, where both artists and promoters understand their roles and responsibilities. Promoters, artists, and other stakeholders are invited to participate in the initiative.

: ZIMBABWE NATIONAL YOUTH GAMES LIGHT UP RUDHAKA.

Rudhaka Stadium hosted the Zimbabwe National Youth Games and our town showed up big.

Rudhaka was full. Provinces marched in with color, music, and pride. Mash East in green and gold got the loudest cheer. We had traditional dances, mbira, spoken word, and fireworks to officially kick things off. The message was simple: this is a stage for young talent.

It was all celebration. Medals were handed out in athletics, football, netball, boxing and more. Local and national artists turned the pitch into a party. The Youth Games flag was handed over, and Rudhaka gave one last standing ovation.

Hotels were full. Vendors ate. Taxis moved non-stop. But most important, our own kids got to compete at home and see what’s possible.

Rudhaka wasn’t just a stadium this past sunday. It was home to dreams, culture, and community.

To the athletes, organizers, and everyone who came through thank you. Marondera hosted with heart.
