🎉 Celebrating 18 Years of Cultural Innovation!

Eighteen years ago today, Jibilika was founded with a mission to engage, educate, and empower young people through innovative creative programs. Over the years, we’ve unearthed and nurtured talent across various disciplines, including dance, music, beatboxing, and skateboarding. Many artists who first performed through Jibilika have gone on to achieve stardom, and we’ve been pivotal in advancing hip hop culture in Zimbabwe.

Reflecting on this journey, we recall the challenges we faced, but also the immense rewards that came with perseverance. We are deeply grateful to everyone who supported this vision in myriad ways. What began as a simple idea has blossomed and seen the birth of multiple initiatives, including earGROUND, Skate Zimbabwe, Amplifaya, Mafuwe Festival, Moto Moto Festival, Zim Hip Hop Summit, Zimdancehall Summit, and many others.

This year, we are excited to host the JIBILIKA FESTIVAL, “a festival of youth culture,” celebrating 18 years of artistic innovation and community.

Happy 18th birthday, Jibilika!
