Fuel The Don x Curtis Dee Rovar: “STAY” – A Song About Holding On

Bulawayo’s music scene continues to heat up, and at the center of the buzz is Fuel The Don, who just dropped a heartfelt new track titled “Stay” featuring the soulful Curtis Dee Rovar. This collaboration blends Afrobeats, RnB, and hip-hop to deliver a sound that’s both fresh and timeless.

When we caught up with Fuel The Don, he shared that “Stay” is all about holding on to the moments and people that matter.

> “We all go through ups and downs, and this track is a reminder to cherish the good times and the people who make them special,” he said. “Time and money affect relationships in this age, and this song speaks to that reality.”

A Collaboration Born of Mutual Respect

Fuel revealed that he reached out to Curtis after vibing with his trapsoul style, especially the track “Cuddle” with J Dumza.

> “His style is flawless, and I knew we’d create something fire,” Fuel said. “We both brought our unique energy—and boom, the result is magic.”

The duo managed to merge their sounds effortlessly, even though finding the right balance was the biggest challenge. With the support of talented studio minds like Luchi Shiki, Rockie DoUb, and Blaq Smoke, they pushed each other to make a track they could truly be proud of.

The Sound and the Vibe

“Stay” is a fusion of Afrobeats, RnB, and hip-hop—designed to capture the feeling of longing, hope, and emotional connection. Fuel shared that one special moment in the studio came when Curtis laid down his verse:

> “The energy in the room was electric—we both knew we had something special."

This single also marks a new chapter for Fuel The Don as he experiments with sounds, themes, and collaborations that reflect his growth as an artist.

Bulawayo’s Music Wave

The city’s music scene is thriving, and Fuel believes “Stay” adds to the diversity and richness of what local artists are offering.

> “We’re not just making music; we’re telling stories that resonate. I’m proud to be part of this wave,” he said.

Fans can look forward to an EP before year-end, more collaborations, and possibly a tour. He even hinted that there may be more tracks with Curtis Dee Rovar on the way.

Shout-outs & Final Words

Fuel The Don sends love to his team, family, Curtis Dee Rovar, and most importantly, his fans:

> “Thank you for rocking with us. This is just the beginning.”

🎶 From Maestro IV to Melusi Writes: A Hip-Hop OG Reborn

Once known as Top Jita, Bulawayo’s Maestro IV lived for the party—hits, hype, and hedonism. But behind the bright lights was a man wrestling with truth.

Today, he’s no longer Maestro. He’s Melusi Writes—a father, a truth-teller, and an artist on a spiritual mission.

His latest track Usizolwami isn’t just a song—it’s a cry for healing, inspired by Psalm 121.
He’s swapped the stage persona for raw vulnerability and purpose.
And instead of chasing fame, he’s chasing faith, fatherhood, and legacy.

This isn’t just a comeback. It’s a calling.

🔥 Bigger Than Hip-Hop is BACK! 🔥

On the 1st of August, Bulawayo’s hip-hop heart was beating LOUD at BAC Leisure as Bigger Than Hip-Hop made its epic return with a Pop-Up Party you had to see to believe! 🎤💃🏾🎶

From its humble start in 2013 at Amakhosi Theatre to Cape to Cairo, Bigger Than Hip-Hop has always been more than an event — it’s a movement. A platform that’s helped shape legends like AWA, the late Cal_Vin, Asaph, Young Stan, Thabbz, Rizzla, Thorne, P to Da O, MC Tytoh, Orthodox Six and more.

Friday night was a whole vibe — music, dance, fashion, and pure kasi energy:

🎤 Performances from Asaph, POY, Chris JP, Frost, Kings Dance Crew & more.

💃🏾 The Whine Queens shut it down with fire moves.

👠 Urban fashion took the stage with a dope modelling segment.

🎧 Mark Vusani on the decks & Dee Moses on the mic kept the hype levels sky-high.

POY summed it up best:

> “It’s Bigger Than Hip-Hop is about giving artists space to sharpen their craft and pass knowledge to the next generation.”

With love from fellow movements like For The City, No Heeps, Hip-Hop Power Fest & Wreckersvale, the culture is alive and well.

Bulawayo, the message is clear: This is more than a show — it’s a celebration of our music, our fashion, our hustle, our culture. 💯
