To all those willing to travel from Bulawayo to St Josephs for the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Centenary Celebrations, be advised that our limited transport will be leaving from Blue Lagoon on Friday 09 June 2017 . The last bus will leave from Blue Lagoon on Sat @6:30 am .Those who are able to arrange separate travelling arrangements, including those coming from other areas countrywide, please do so as such will eliminate any inconveniences. We have pushed our program to start on Sat to accommodate those who will be traveling on Sat morning.

The Joshua Nkomo Cultural Movement (JNCM) thanks all the stakeholders in form of political organisations, community based organisations, the media, cultural performing groups, artists, poets and all community members who made the 2016 1st July Joshua Nkomo Annual Celebrations a success. The General Josh Legacy Walk marked a historic moment as, in our diversity, we walked together in memory of all the phases of Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo's life and in the process reflecting on the values of peace, unity and tolerance as upheld by Father Zimbabwe.

At the Stanley Square, uBaba uSoul Gwaguba Ndlovu delivered an amazing presentation, telling the story of Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo's life, leaving the thousands that attended begging for more. The JNCM Chair Mr Michael Sibangilizwe Nkomo also delivered his speech emphasizing on peace unity and tolerance.

Pleasure to announce the foundation of the Joshua Nkomo Youth Movement that will seek to create, develop and promote active participation of young people in the decision making, in relation to the economical, social and political developments in our society. We shall stand guided by the teachings of our hero Dr Joshua Mqabuko Nyongolo Nkomo. The Youth Movement is not affiliated with any political party hence we welcome young people from across the political devide. As Matojeni Cultural Movement, we extend our appreciation to all our members, supporters and the society at large for your support in year 2013. The circumstances were quite challenging to work in during the past year, but no matter what the circumstances were, we never lost sight of our priorities of developing a strong and sustainable cultural movement that puts the people at heart in whatever we do.
In 2013, we successfully engaged both the public and private sector and delivered an amazing activity, bringing Bulawayo to a standstill, for the celebration of our icon and hero on the 1st of July 2013 “Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo and Liberators Day” under the theme ‘Celebrating a National icon, Celebrating a Cultural icon’. Our cultural groups performed breath taking traditional rituals at the statue site, influencing the re-erection of Father Zimbabwe’s Statue and our street march on the day called for the then Main Street to be changed to now Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Street. We are still advocating for 1st July to be officially declared Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo and Liberators Day – public holiday. We also welcomed the opening of the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport by the government of the Republic of Zimbabwe.
We are committing ourselves as a cultural movement to use our time wisely, moving forward and swiftly as we can in progressively executing our objectives throughout the year 2014, our program for the year is dominated by outreach activities and workshops. All our goals will only be possible with your continued dedication and support.
