Kitwe boy discovers little sister lifeless, defiled in unfinished building
AN ELEVEN YEAR old boy's final memory of his six year old sister will be a picture of her lying lifeless and half naked in an uncompleted building in Ipusukilo Township, where a cat ran to as they chased it away.
The girl went missing on Friday, February 6, and sadly, did not make it back home until she was discovered by her older brother and his friends.
Her body was later discovered laying lifeless in an unfinished building on Saturday February 7, 2026.
According to the police, the deceased was discovered laying on the ground half naked, facing upwards with her mouth open and a deep cut on her left hand.
Blood was also discovered coming out from her private part and faecal matter on her back.
Copperbelt Province police commanding officer Mwala Yuyi, said the deceased was earlier reported missing by her grandmother Mable Chota, before she was discovered lifeless.
"Brief facts of the matter are that on February 6, 2026 at around 09:00 hours, the now deceased was playing with her friends near her grandmother's house in Ipusukilo Compound Kitwe."
"She then separated herself from friends at around 11:00 hours and walked towards her grandmother's house but she didn't reach home. Around 12:00 hours, her grandmother went to Ipusukilo Police Post where she reported a missing child," he said.
The commanding officer explained that when the deceased's brother found her, he rushed home and informed his grandmother who rushed to the scene to confirm.
Upon confirmation, the grandmother immediately reported to the police who visited the scene and took the body to Kitwe Teaching Hospital (KTH) where the medical doctor certified the six year old dead.
He said the body was deposited to Kitwe Teaching Hospital Mortuary.
The commanding officer, condemned this act and urged anyone with relevant information to assist with investigations by reporting to the police station.
