SUNDAY HIGHLIGHT 🥳

This is a prayer I'm giving to the boys today:

As the world gets heavy, know that your rollers are something that can give you joy. I pray that out of you will come out international roller skaters, entrepreneurs,leaders, and givers. I pray that you'll be a blessing to your community. I pray that you become great fathers, great brothers, great sons. I pray that you be men your community will look up to. I pray that blessings overflow on you.

I pray that the plans God has for you the ones He set before you were even formed in your mother's womb will come to pass. I pray like Jeremiah was called by God to be a prophet to the nations, that you too are called for nations.

I pray you will never be swayed by bad influence. May you always find yourself in the right groups. May you stand out, and may you always be great.

You are blessed. You are seen. You are loved. You are valued. You are special. And remember — when the world says you cannot be vulnerable, remember: vulnerability is humanity.

Amen. 🙌

THEY CALLED THEM "COMBONI BOYS" AND IT BROKE SOMETHING IN ME

Yesterday I gave my boys a moment to speak freely. Just an open floor bring your complaints, your ideas, whatever's on your heart.

One boy stood up. "Coach, we need jerseys. Every time we go play another team, they call us Comboni boys meaning from low class.

I stood there and almost lost it.Because I know what it feels like to be laughed at for something you didn't choose and can't yet fix. I had to talk myself into staying strong in front of them.

So I told them the truth I believe good things take time. Don't let anyone's mockery decide who you are. The jerseys will come I said it with faith because I know God will provide.

But here's what sat heavy on me after they left.
These are boys doing everything right. Showing up. Working hard. And they are being mocked for not having soccer jersey.

Why is it that we only rush to invest in people once they've gone astray? Once they're in trouble, once it's a crisis, once it's too late that's when the help shows up. But right now, while they're still doing the right thing, still dreaming, still trying? We look away.
It shouldn't take a boy falling before we catch him. Let's catch him while he's still standing.

We had the most beautiful time with our young footballers today. ⚽️

Watching these boys have fun while we pour the right values into them that's what DETOX is all about. We're raising boys who are gentle. Boys who are kind. Boys who are strong enough to be vulnerable. Boys who become radical leaders, great fathers, and great bosses men who will never take advantage of the women who work under them, and men who will never become sugar daddies preying on young girls.

This is the movement we're building, one boy at a time.
