ONCE UPON A TIME
Once upon a time
We were once in the ovaries of women
We were once fertilized by the gentlemen
We were once shifted out of the ovaries
We were once pushed into the fallopian tubes
Once upon a time
We were given all the requirements
While in the womb we received all the nutrients
Then, we all developed into zygotes
And later we developed into embryos
Once upon a time
The women travelled long distances to the hospitals
Bumping harshly into the stones just to visit the antinentals
They made sure that we were safe from all detrimentals
Because they considered us as their fundamentals
Once upon a time
We continued to develop through the umbilical cords
Bathing and turning around in the amniotic fruids
And through the placenta we received the foods
And our healthy became good
Once upon a time
We were implanted into the uteruses
From there we developed eyes for visions
Ears for auditions
And legs for locomotions
Once upon a time
We were now grown babies
And all we wanted was to see the skies
Without realizing who felt the pains
We just existed as first and last borns
Once upon a time
They finally received us gently in their hands
While wrapped in head socks and blankets
From pain to rejoicing faces
And they received applausions and congratulations
Once upon a time
We used to cry all nights
Our mothers did not leave our sights
They carried us all nights
They sang lullabies to close our sights
Once upon a time
We became teenagers
We were taught all life dangers
And now we are good boys and girls
Today we are writing poems
Once upon a time
Because of that woman,
Frank Pitcher became the prolic artist
Because of that woman
Emmanuel Mwape became a filmmaker
Because of that woman
Fred kapambwe became a director
Because of that woman
Cyclone Idai wrote this poem
Once upon a time
Because of that woman
They were born
Because that woman
You were born
Because of that woman
I was born
Because of that woman
We were born
And because of that woman
The whole world was born
Respect the woman
