All tribes of the nation have equal rights, and every tribe has an inviolable right to the preservation and use of its own customs and language. The equality of all customary languages in schools, office, and public life, must be recognised by the state. In those territory in which several tribes dwell, the public and educational institutions are to be so arranged that, without applying compulsion to learn a second country language, each of the tribes receives the necessary means of education in its own language.

For one to be a doctor or engineer in this country they have to have very high marks at senior high school exit exams. We demand they have six points or at least less than ten points. Yet, for one to be a teacher, we accept anything. We have people who never took school serious (by their low G12 marks) become teachers. How do we expect our kids to realise the full education potential and unlock their ingenuity when they are taught by not the best among us?

It is high time we raised the standards for what it takes to be a school teacher in this country. Teaching is a very prestigious career which has the power to shape the future of a community.

It takes on average 66 days for a new habit to register within a human being. Africa had been under colonial rule for over 300 yrs. On average we have had independence for 60yrs as a continent. There is no way we could have broken the cycle which was created and set in place for 400yrs in 60yrs.
We still got more years for our independence as a people to register. We must stay on the course for one day, a habit of independence, self worth and pride shall register. In those days we will look not to the West, East, North or South but within ourselves. We will no longer take pride in being the recipient's of alms. We shall see ourselves as men and women of value who don't take seconds from any other.
Africa.

Dear Icons,
Yes you are an Icon.
Icons are things or people who represent a certain sets of beliefs or standards and are very highly respected and venerated by Society. My goal is to be highly venerated and respected by the coming generation because i took up certain beliefs and standards which resulted in them having a better society than the one I am living in.

Yours Faithfully

Colonisation was not about political control but economic control. It has always been about economic control. Hence they willingly, yes willingly, gave political independence. We asked and fought for the wrong thing..
The economic emancipation of Africa means the economic downfall of ''Western civilisation''. Who would gladly give away their source of bread and butter? Even babies throw a fight when you mess with their food.
If we are to attain economic freedom we must be very smart and resolved to suffer greatly for it. We have to defeat the strong man in order to take control of that which he controls. He who controls the economic system controls the political system.
Our focus has been taken to the political system. Hence the everyday debate in Africa borders solely on politics. We are too busy shadow boxing whilst the real enemy relaxes and enjoys our heritage. He even taunts us by offering help in our shadow boxing quest.

A Revolution is a change of social systems. In Latin it is to roll back-revolvere. It entails starting all over with a new system by doing away with the old one mostly in a forceful manner. In Marxism it is a result of clashes between the social classes. When one social class rises up against the other and changes the system of national governance..a domination of national governance.
Is Zambia on a path to a revolution? the answer is 99% not likely.

An atrocious ignorant post..

Why do we a Zambians get to have our national registration cards (NRC) at an age of 16yrs? I am of the understanding an NRC is a document which shows nationality of a person. So all people born in Zambia under the below of 16yrs are not Zambians? Even though they benefit every right of being a Zambian.

My resolution is let's issue NRCs at birth same as birth certificates. Until I get a sound explanation as to why issuing an NRC at 16 is better than at birth my resolve stands.
