POLICE ORDERS β€˜STOP’ TO POWDER GAME AS IT MAY LEAD TO BREACH OF PEACE

The Zambia Police is appealing to members of the public to avoid, at all cost, disrupting the peace and tranquility currently prevailing during the mourning of fourth Republican president Mr Rupiah Bwezani Banda.

"This call comes in the wake of some alleged traditional cousinship (Chimbuya) were some section of the people are reported to have been smeared with some white substance such as powder or mealie meal of which some people who are not traditional cousins with the deceased have ended up as victims," Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga has said.

"Further, we have reports that some people have organised containers of white paint targeting their traditional cousins during this period of mourning."

He cautioned that members of the public should desist from any form of action or actions which might lead to the breach of the peace as the police will not condone any form of lawlessness.

"Everyone’s desire should be to mourn and put to rest the former Head of State in a distinguished manner devoid of violence and disorderly conduct," said Hamoonga.

πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯ΊπŸ₯Ί

Hi aunt Momoza. I got suspended at work because of some fraud that happened. I decided to go home to be with my family during that time. I jokingly lied to my mother and siblings that I got fired. The treatment towards me changed immediately, they started disrespecting me. My mother even told me that she can't take care of an adult male and that I should go hustle. My sisters treated me like I'm their junior, and I'm the first born. My suspension took about three months because there were a lot of investigations to be made. At the end my name got cleared and I am back at work. I told family that I'm going to Gauteng to stay with a friend. My mother's exact words were "hope that friend won't mind taking care of a lazy dog."

These are the people that I've been taking care of since I started working at the age of 21. They sleep in a house I built. My other sister has a diploma I paid for. It took my suspension to finally see that they only want me when I provide something. I have developed some hatred for all of them and I don't plan to go home anytime soon. Will it be wrong to cut them completely from my life? Just get married and have my own new family without them knowing?

LETS DIALOGUE WITHOUT HYPOCRISY - ECL

"If we learn to dialogue with one another as we have experienced during the days of mourning, probably we can get somewhere as a country. Dialogue, genuine dialogue between all of us. Those who were in government before, and those who are in now. But what we are seeing is hypocrisy. Where people say good things and then do bad things. And if we can expunge the hypocrisy from our lives and just say it as it is, between now and embarking into the future, it's a lesson we are learning from Rupiah Banda's legacy. People have said a lot of good things. May those good things become part of us."
