🐾 Work in Progress: Capturing a Special Bond in Coloured Pencil 🖤✏️

Every artwork starts with a blank page, a vision, and a lot of patience. This piece is currently in the early stages, with the detailed blanket texture beginning to emerge while the outlines of two beautiful dogs wait to come to life.

I love sharing the journey behind my artwork because it shows how a realistic pencil drawing develops layer by layer. From soft graphite shading and texture work to the final fine details in the eyes and fur, every stage plays a role in creating a lifelike portrait.

This commission is still a work in progress, but it's exciting to see the image slowly taking shape. I can't wait to bring these two gorgeous companions to life on paper!

Finally complete — Grogu the beautiful Rottweiler 🐾✨

This custom coloured pencil pet portrait has been such an incredible journey from the very first sketch to the final tiny details. Capturing Grogu’s happy expression, shining eyes, rich fur textures, and larger-than-life personality was an absolute joy.
I loved bringing this portrait to life layer by layer and creating a realistic artwork that celebrates such a special companion. From the soft folds in the green jersey to that iconic smile and playful tongue, every detail was carefully hand drawn with love and patience ❤️

Another exciting update on this beautiful Rottweiler pet portrait 🐾✨

The realism is really starting to come together now — from the rich black and tan fur tones to the folds in the fabric and that big happy smile full of personality. Every coloured pencil layer adds more depth, texture, and life to this custom artwork.
The eyes are still waiting for their final sparkle, but even at this stage, this portrait already captures so much joy and character ❤️ Creating realistic pet portraits by hand is always such a rewarding journey, especially when you can see a beloved companion slowly appear on the page.

From the soft fur textures to that happy expression and playful tongue, every layer of coloured pencil brings more personality and realism into this artwork. Watching the portrait develop piece by piece is always one of the most rewarding parts of the creative process.

There’s still plenty more detail to add, especially in the eyes and final highlights, but I’m so excited with how this custom pet portrait is progressing so far ❤️
