Today I raise a brush in remembrance of David Hockney, one of the greatest artists of our time.

His fearless use of colour, light, and perspective transformed the way we see the world. Hockney had an extraordinary ability to turn everyday scenes into something magical, reminding us that beauty is often found in the simplest moments.

As an artist, his work has been a constant source of inspiration for me. His bold approach to landscape and place has influenced many of my own Lucky Friday Art creations, encouraging me to see beyond reality and capture the feeling of a place rather than just its appearance.

Few artists leave such a lasting mark on both the art world and those who pick up a brush because of them.

Thank you, David Hockney, for showing us how to see differently.

Rest in peace, master of colour, light, and imagination.

A bathroom in Jambiani, reimagined through Niro.
Niro is a traditional Zanzibar technique using coloured white cement — timeless, durable, and deeply rooted in local craft. I’ve taken a more textured, abstract approach, turning each wall into a black canvas where anything is possible.

This 4m x 5m space took 4 days to complete — built to last, designed to stand out.

If you’re looking to create something unique, let’s talk.
