I had this serious undercut for 7 x years because after shaving my hair the second time I started feeling irritated with hair in my neck. At the time I loved it so much, I decided that’s my look for the rest of my life, bla-bla-bla 🤣 I forgot who I was talking about 🤷‍♀️ ME! Change is the most normal thing there is and making a firm decision that a particular style is yours forever is like saying you can hold your breath for 5 hours without dying 🤦‍♀️ There has to be space for movement. The last time I shaved my undercut was December 2025 and I remember waking up the next day with the sudden knowingness that it’s done. 💪 I’m growing it out because I’m changing, not because I didn’t like the style. And suddenly hair in my neck doesn’t irritate me 🤷‍♀️. I think how we present ourselves through our hair can be linked to whatever identity shift (or general life or creative shift) we’re going through. I’d rather lean into that than repress it with a fixed decision about what I said I would look like or what someone else decides should be the style. At the moment I’m still going through a creative shift - which is why I haven’t been posting a lot about what I’m working on. So, I’m just letting my hair do whatever it wants to for now. It’s in an ‘in between’ space - the same as where I am creatively, and it feels right to not interfere too much. As what I’m working on in the background gets more shape and form, I know the next hairstyle will reveal itself ☺️ Ps. If you want an undercut done the right way (or ‘shading’ as they call it) I highly recommend shanéTomboy_vy She is an artist 🙌. Ps. Hair is great to have fun with and use as a self-expressive medium. The 1st time I shaved off all my hair was in my late 20’s. I stupidly agreed to a make-over where I told an eccentric stylist he can do whatever he wants 👀🤦‍♀️ Big mistake!! I walked out with a bob covered in bold purple hues that looked like someone dropped paint on my head. I have nothing against funky colourful hair but at the time I worked in a financial department and as a part time waitress in the evenings at a well known restaurant in town. The owner of that restaurant asked me to go and come back when my hair was normal again - and rightfully so. As the owner he had a say as to what the look and feel should be with his staff. Also, it didn’t work so well in the finance department. Living disco balls were not their thing. So, I shaved it off and within a month my hair was styled in a short pixie cut (it grows INCREDIBLY fast - as if it is competing to get into the Olympics). This photo was taken the 2nd time I shaved my hair off at the age of 37 when I couldn’t keep up with colouring the roots every week. I was shocked at how upset people were that I (1) shaved my head and (2) embraced my grey at that age. And I thought WOW! We live in a country where women are free to express themselves. But we still buy into the fear of judgement. If an opinion doesn’t threaten your ability to breathe, why would that person’s point of view matter? Experimenting with your image is the same as playing with paint on canvas. You can always change it if you don’t like it. Willingness to try something is probably one of the most important things you can do for yourself - especially if you’re creative. We live with the chain of fear of judgement around our neck or we liberate ourselves from ignorance and enjoy the time we have. Life is too short! Ps. Don’t tell a stranger to do whatever he/she wants with your hair without discussing the plan first 👀🤣 Stay with choice! Belinda

DM me for tips on how to pose as an amateur non-influencer (because looking perfect or being perfect is not sustainable 👀). What I'm wearing today: cardigan on sale from ; white t-shirt from Woolworths (I think); CAT boots from Cape Union Mart (from way back when); waaaaaay-to-tight-jeans - also from Woolworths (had to unbutton it after I took this photo because I deserve to breathe - but I gym now 💪); bra also from Woolworths - hope you can't see it (had to keep this one on because I'm going out now ( when I get back home - don't judge! I know I'm not the only one); and finally my self-made pink & orange zebra effect earrings on 100% cotton fabric, hand sketched and coloured with Derwent Inktense fabric pencils. The 3rd photo shows the close-up. These earrings are not for sale, but I'm working on an idea to create more with a similar look & feel that can be sold - hopefully soon 🤞. Have a great Friday! Zebra effect 100% cotton neckpiece created with a darning foot and my sewing machine for a dramatic, intense look. I bought my sewing machine when I turned 40 with the intention of using it to sketch on fabric with stitching. Five years later I finally created a piece where I combined sketching on fabric with inktense pencils and sewing over it with black thread 💕 Very pleased with the end result! 🙌 Photo taken by Loudroudboy Photography

Flamingo Pink - my new favourite pink! Here is another fun neckpiece I sketched and coloured with Derwent Inktense pencils on heavy 100% cotton fabric. It was with this neckpiece that I accidentally left my mini heatpress on my iphone instead of on the actual heatpress stand - for a few seconds too long before I realised what was happening 🤦‍♀️ Now I have a yellow blob on my iphone screen 🤦‍♀️ Everything I view on my phone has a yellow filter now 👀🤷‍♀️. Chaos! But it was fun chaos 💕 I really wanted a scene where women are playing poker ♣️. I never see that anywhere. So, thank you Loudroudboy Photography for this awesome poker face image 🙌
