Kabelo Keogatile leaves THETHA FM
Vanderbijlpark Vaal 1 September 2026 After 17 years of being the voice of the Vaal renowned broadcaster Kabelo Keogatile has officially announced his departure from Thetha FM 100.6
Keogatile made the emotional announcement himself on Tuesday 01 September leaving listeners across Sebokeng Evaton Sharpeville Vanderbijlpark and the greater Vaal in shock
If you grew up in the Vaal you grew up with his voice
In a heartfelt statement Keogatile said
After 17 years saying goodbye is not easy Thetha FM has been more than a workplace it has been a part of my life my growth and my story
He reflected on the challenges behind the mic
My journey was not always easy there were difficult seasons disappointments moments when I questioned whether I should keep going
17 years is not a joke That is 17 years of early mornings late nights community funerals meetings youth programs and being the trusted voice families invited into their homes
Despite the difficulties Keogatile emphasized he leaves with grace
I leave with respect with memories and with no bitterness only gratitude
Kabelo Keogatile is regarded as one of the longest serving voices at Thetha FM and has mentored many young presenters in the Vaal
The reason for his departure and his next move have not yet been announced Thetha FM management is yet to release an official statement
Tributes from listeners have been pouring in on social media with many saying "The Vaal is not okay and thanking him for his service
Vaal entertainment union and the community wish Kabelo all the best in his next chapter
