Part 2 โ and this time, weโre taking you behind the scenes of just how much went into bringing this mosaic to life. ๐จ
This dove was created ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐น๐ ๐ฏ๐ ๐ต๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ at home over the course of ๐ช๐๐๐๐ฆ โ countless hours spent planning, cutting and carefully placing every single tile, piece by piece.
Once complete, the mosaic was secured onto meshโฆ and then came the slightly terrifying part: ๐๐ฒ ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฑ ๐๐ผ ๐๐จ๐ง ๐๐ง ๐จ๐ฃ! ๐ฑ *Screech. Panic!*
It was the only way to safely transport such a large piece to Moya Catholic Church in Thembisa, where each section could be carefully reassembled on the wall like one giant mosaic puzzle.
The sections were cemented into place, lined up and left to dry for 24 hours. Then it was back again the following day to grout the entire piece, clean it up and complete the installation.
And finallyโฆ after ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ธ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ, ๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐ป๐๐น๐ฒ๐๐ ๐ต๐ผ๐๐ฟ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ต๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ ๐ฝ๐น๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐, the dove was complete. ๐๏ธโจ
