The best part of having a store? Filling it with good people.

Last month we welcomed our collaborator Russell from YAY ABE to Nine Yards for an afternoon of live drawing, great conversation and front-row seats to his creative process. ✏️

Watching people gather around a table, glass in hand, as an artwork slowly came to life reminded us why we wanted this space in the first place. A place where good ideas leave the group chat and happen in real life.

These Saturdays are our way of celebrating the artists, makers and collaborators who shape our world, and inviting you to be part of it.

Meet the newest members of the family. 🌸

Some collaborations arrive so naturally they feel as though they were always meant to exist.
Born from a longstanding mutual admiration between Noush Projects and Something Good Studio, this special edition brings together their sculptural world with our signature Wildflower artwork, hand-painted onto each figurine. 🌿

Noush Dolls are a playful re-imagining of the classic Ghanaian Clonette, traditionally gifted to watch over loved ones.

Each piece begins as an original hand-carved Jacaranda sculpture before being carefully cast and hand-painted in South Africa. No two are exactly alike. The Salomé pair also make beautiful bookends, blending sculpture with everyday function.

Made in a small exclusive edition for Something Good Studio. Available from our Nine Yards flagship store.

A slightly overdue post. Back in June, our Nenzima Blanket travelled to Copenhagen for 3 Days of Design, exhibited as part of Female Design Futures, curated by White Label Project.

One thing we noticed while walking the fair: textile art wasn’t a category. It was everywhere — walls, floors, furniture, installations.
Textiles are no longer just functional objects. They’re becoming part of how stories, spaces and ideas are expressed. 🎨

To have our work included in that conversation, alongside our long-time collaborators TheUrbanative, was a milestone we’ll hold onto for a while.

South African design belongs on the global stage. 🤎

In good company. 👯‍♀️

Over the past little while, our studio has been filled with new arrivals, new collaborations, and familiar faces.

From welcoming our special edition collection with Noush Projects, to seeing the latest Romaria pieces arrive in store, to spending an afternoon with Yay Abe as twenty original drawings found new homes, it’s been a week that reminded us what Something Good Studio is really about.

Looking back, what stays with us isn’t only the objects.

It’s the conversations that happen around them. The artists who trust us with their work. The collectors who continue to champion local creativity. The friendships that quietly grow between it all.

Thank you for being part of this community we’ve been building.

Here’s to meaningful collaborations, thoughtful objects, and many more moments shared in good company. 💙
