From artist-designed blankets in a small Johannesburg gallery to how it has grown into something much bigger...

In this interview, Something Good Studio reflects on the journey from those early beginnings to the moment a chance meeting at 100% Design sparked a collaboration that would become Romaria.

What began with three knitwear pieces has continued to evolve into a fuller expression of textile, craft, and wearable design, with new collections now moving toward complete looks, layered pieces, and garments made to be lived in.

RMB Latitudes Art Fair returns to the beautiful Shepstone Gardens from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 May 2026 — and yes, we’ll be there again. ✨

Honestly, Latitudes holds a special place in our hearts. Last year’s fair reminded us just how powerful it is to gather around good design, good people, and meaningful conversations. It even played a small part in inspiring our Johannesburg flagship store. Funny how these things happen when you simply keep showing up.

This year, we’re bringing along a world of knitwear, blankets, artist collaborations, and a few surprises tucked up our sleeves. 🎁

We’re still slightly speechless typing this.

Something Good Studio has officially received three Africa International Design Awards () for 2026. 🥳

Our Shero Cloakreceived a Fashion Design awards for:
✦ Sustainable Fashion
✦ Eco-Textile & Biobased Fabric

And our From Her Vase Blanket received an award for:
✦ Product Design / Homeware & Decoration

For a small South African textile studio built around collaboration, slow artistry, natural fibres, and thoughtful production… this feels incredibly special. Not just because the pieces were recognised. But because the ideas behind them were too.

The conversations. The experimentation.
The artists, makers, knitters, and problem-solvers behind the scenes. The belief that beautiful things can also be meaningful.

Both award-winning pieces will be available online, in-store, and at Latitudes Art Fair.
