Flare FM becomes fully fledged commercial radio station
KwaNdebele based radio station Flare FM has stepped up the plate into realising the founder 's Lucky "Professor" Mahlangu dream and objective of being a fully fledged commercial platform. It was founded and launched on the 01 September 2019
The station has acquired a licence for commercial platform from Independent Communications, Authority of South Africa (ICASA) to be the second in Mpumalanga and the first of it's kind that will broadcasting in isiNdebele among others.It will be covering two Mpumalanga and and Limpopo provinces.
The station has also moved it's base to 148 Railway Street, Cotton Centre in Marble Hall mainly,as well another studio in Mbombela,from the previous satellite studio 635 Phola Mall, KwaNdebele Taxi Association office, which will also be used.
Flare FM will now be available on 100,9 Frequently Modulation (FM) and it's all systems go for a September 2026 launch and will be unveiling their lineup.
Some its milestones its 400 000 + listenership and to broadcast live State of Municipalities Address of Thembisile Hani Local Municipality three times. It has also brought MTN 8 trophy to it's studios.
Flare FM goes by the tag line "Itjhisa bhe!" and the future is bright as it will airing in four languages isiNdebele, Sepedi, English and Afrikaans.
Professor hints that the station will blend talent from community radio stations as well as seasoned household names in the industry and accord raw talent a platform.
