The next stop for Born Free is the 18th Drama for Life Conference and Festival at Wits University.

We’re excited to bring Born Free into this space and share the stage with artists, thinkers, and practitioners from across the country.

Born Free returns to the stage for ONE DAY ONLY.

After being selected for the 18th Drama for Life Conference and Festival at Wits University, Born Free returns to the stage under this year’s powerful theme, “Footsteps on Fire: Reclaiming the Legacy of 1976 to Now.”

The production continues its conversation around youth agency, democratic participation, freedom and the questions young South Africans are still asking today.

Watch our SABC interview, then come and experience the conversation live.

And there’s something else…

For this one-day-only performance, we are joined by the talented Lethabo. Ngcobo@.

But we’re not telling you who he’s playing just yet. 👀

You’ll have to come to the theatre and find out.

Who do you think Lethabo is playing?

Thank you to everyone who walked through the doors, bought a ticket, sat in the audience, shared the poster, told someone about the show, brought a friend, or simply believed in Born Free.

Thank you to the cast and creative team for giving yourselves to this work. Thank you to everyone behind the scenes who made each performance possible.

Born Free has travelled further than we imagined. From its first stages to this moment, every audience has added something to the life of this play.

This work was born from questions about who we are, what we inherited, what we have become, and what kind of future we are willing to build.

Thank you for witnessing Born Free.
