Chapter 4: The Kitchen ☕🌿

There has been considerable excitement in the Courtyard.
The coffee machine has arrived.

Apparently, this means the kitchen is now officially operational. According to the Muses, one cannot possibly be expected to create without coffee. We chose not to argue.

While we were worrying about practical things, the Muses were already at work — turning ordinary kitchen pieces into little bits of Serenity.

A rather plain pizza board became a home for the tea towels.
Bottles were painted, flowers arranged, and jugs spra ypainted.

And slowly, our little kitchen is beginning to feel less like a kitchen…

…and more like ours.

There is still work to do. Quite a lot, actually.

But the coffee is ready.

Do you also sometimes look at a room, a blank box, an old tin or a slightly sad bread bin and think… where on earth do I start?

So do our Muses. Apparently, “just be creative” is not nearly enough direction when four women have four opinions and someone has already opened the pink paint. 🌸

So, allow us to introduce our next Serenity Colour World — little worlds of colour, texture, pattern and possibility, created to give you a place to begin. Not rules.Just inspiration to help you imagine what an ordinary object could become.

And I have it on reasonably good authority that the Muses are heading into the kitchen next.

Their chosen world?

Maison Pâtisserie. 🧁🌿
Dusty rose. Duck-egg blue. Mint and sage. Creamy neutrals. Vintage French labels, delicate florals, macarons, old recipe cards and just enough pâtisserie prettiness to make the bread bin feel it has been seriously underdressed all these years.

What could possibly go wrong?

CHAPTER 4. The muses are moving in

The Muses have received some rather important news. They are going to be displayed in the Courtyard.
Naturally, this called for only one thing.

A professional photoshoot.
Immediately.

Amara wanted something tasteful.
Elodie wanted better light.
Zuri discovered she has angles.
And Ameera would like it noted that she never asked for this attention… although she was suspiciously well prepared.

There were props.
There were poses.
There was a great deal of looking thoughtfully into the distance.

At one point, someone suggested, “Just act natural.”
That did not go well.

The results, however, are rather fabulous.

Apparently, if one is going to wander around Serenity Courtyard, one should at least have a decent portfolio.

THE MUSES GET MAKING: CEMENT HEARTS 🤍

Apparently, a plain cement heart was far too sensible for the Muses.

So out came the chalk paint. Then an acrylic embellishment — which, naturally, refused to bend around the heart.

The Muses’ solution? Bring out the heat gun. 😂

A little gentle heat softened the embellishment enough to mould it around the curve. Once in place, we painted everything together and used a tiny bit of rub-on paint with a finger across the raised detail.

And suddenly… that very ordinary cement heart looked like it had been hanging in a slightly crumbling French château for the last hundred years.

No buying the décor. If we want it, we make it.

Chapter 3: Back to the Patio 🌿

The Muses have returned to the patio.

Amara took one look around, tilted her head and decided something was missing.

Hydrangeas.

Apparently exactly 13 more. 💙

CHAPTER 3 — THE MUSES REMEMBER THEY HAVEN’T FINISHED THE PATIO

Apparently, opening a gallery in the middle of a patio makeover is perfectly reasonable behaviour when you are a Muse.

But the paint is still out, the pots are waiting, the lanterns need finishing and there are several suspiciously unfinished projects scattered around Serenity Courtyard.

So, after their little artistic detour, the Muses are heading back outside.

This time, we’re not planning. We’re making.

And remember the rule: no buying the décor. If we want it, we make it.

Welcome back to the patio. 🌿

Today the muses received a little piece of magic in their inbox. 💌

A client sent us a picture of her beautiful project made with one of our drums and our non-tear decoupage.

The muses immediately gathered around the phone.

There was admiration. There was discussion.

And then, inevitably:

“WE NEED TO MAKE ONE.”

Chapter 2: The Gallery

What. A. Day.

The paintings are up, the boxes are down, and everyone is currently lying on the floor questioning several life choices.

But we are IN. 🌿🎨

There is just one small problem.

Apparently, the gallery has walls.

Quite a lot of them, actually.

And according to the muses, those empty walls are “simply unacceptable.”

The muses are resting now.

Letitia, meanwhile, has been handed a paintbrush.

How convenient. 😏
