Our strategy is simple " we play".
Playing with students in the classroom while teaching is important because it breaks the wall of fear and boredom and makes learning enjoyable and memorable. When a teacher uses games, play, and laughter, students relax, participate freely, and remember the lesson better because they are learning with both their minds and their bodies. Play builds respect and trust between the teacher and learners, it improves concentration, teamwork, and communication, and it gives shy or struggling learners a chance to shine without pressure. A playful classroom is not a noisy, out-of-control classroom, it is a lively space where energy is used positively, where learners are active instead of passive, and where education becomes something they look forward to, not something they fear.

When students don't respect their teacher and the teacher is forced to teach in fear for his life, learning completely collapses. The classroom stops being a safe space for education and becomes a space of tension, intimidation, and survival. The teacher, instead of focusing on teaching, is constantly anxious, watching his words, afraid to correct learners or enforce discipline in case it leads to threats, insults, or even violence. His confidence and authority are broken, and his health and dignity suffer. For learners, they also lose, because even those who want to learn cannot concentrate in a chaotic, disrespectful environment. There is noise, disruption, mockery, and no real teaching happens. In the end, results drop, values are destroyed, and the classroom produces fear instead of knowledge, because respect is the foundation of all learning — without it, both the teacher and the students fail.

I am truly humbled and deeply honored to receive this Recognition of Thanks and Appreciation from the Councillor. This acknowledgment means so much to me and serves as a great encouragement to continue serving our community with dedication and passion. I am sincerely grateful for the trust, support, and recognition bestowed upon me, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to Councillor Angus Mckenzie and everyone who has been part of this journey.

But when you have the courage to pursue them, you not only create a happier life for yourself, you also inspire others around you to do the same.

Living with a dysfunctional family can have deep and lasting effects on a person. It often creates a home environment filled with constant conflict, stress, fear, or lack of support, instead of love and safety. A person growing up in that environment can develop low self-esteem, anxiety, difficulty trusting other people, and problems expressing their emotions in a healthy way. It can also affect their relationships outside the home, because they may repeat the unhealthy patterns they learned at home, and it can make it harder to focus at school or work. Over time, if not addressed, it can lead to feeling isolated, angry, or always having to take care of others instead of themselves. Our children need all the motivation they can get to encounter the world.

As the Provincial Deputy Chairperson of the Youth Crime Prevention Desk, it is both a great honour and a profound responsibility to represent the Western Cape at the National Youth Crime Prevention Summit in Johannesburg.
The Western Cape is a province of both immense talent and deep challenges, where our youth are faced daily with gangsterism, drug abuse, and violence, yet they continue to show resilience and hope for change. Representing our province on the national stage allows us to share our grassroots experiences, our community-based interventions, and the voices of young people who are choosing discipline over crime, peace over conflict, and motivation over despair. It also ensures that the unique realities of our communities in Cape Town and across the province shape national strategies, while bringing back knowledge and partnerships that will strengthen our work at home. It is not just about representation, but about making sure that the youth of the Western Cape are seen, heard, and included in building a safer South Africa for all.

Stories are how wisdom gets passed down without the bruises. ❤️

We tell our stories to youth for 3 big reasons:

1. So that they don't have to learn everything the hard way. discipline over destruction.
2. Because facts tell, but stories change hearts.
3. And finally, to give them hope and showing them that another path exists.
A lot of youth think _"This is just how life is for people like me."

When an elder, parent, older person or their role model shares: _"I came from the same streets, same struggles... and I chose different", it cracks that belief open.
It says: "If I could, you can too."

We tell stories because
Pain + Lessons + Time = Wisdom
We would rather give them the wisdom than watch them pay for the pain.

It’s not just talking. we are handing them a mind map before they get lost. That is "Women Moving Souls".
