Behind Artjamming Steenberg Village are two families who came together with a shared vision: to create something special for their children, their families and the wider community.

For Dave and Michelle, it was never just about opening a business. It was about creating a place filled with colour, creativity, laughter, connection and memories.

A place where families can put down their phones, pick up a paintbrush and spend some time creating together. 🎨

And this is just the beginning!

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing you to the families, team members and personalities behind our studio — the people who bring the colour to Artjamming Steenberg every day.

Because at the heart of it all is something we really believe in:

And we are ridiculously excited to get them out for our very first ALL GLOWED UP party! 🌈🎨

We’re turning down the lights and turning UP the music and colour for an after-dark Artjamming experience where the studio comes alive under UV.

Our first corporate team build! 🎨

We had such a fantastic evening welcoming the AISCT team for our very first corporate team build at Artjamming Steenberg Village.

Together, they created COMMUNITAS — a collaborative artwork inspired by community, connection and belonging. Each individual shape and colour has its own identity, but together they form one connected composition — a reflection of the different people, perspectives and roles that make up a school community.

And this one started long before the paint came out. ✨

We worked with AISCT beforehand to develop an artwork specifically for their school — considering the meaning behind the piece, the design, colour palette, overall look and feel, and even the space where the finished canvas will eventually hang.

Then it was over to the team to bring it to life.

It was wonderful to listen to the team discuss questions that sparked stories, unexpected answers and conversations as they painted. It all happened so naturally, and captured exactly what COMMUNITAS is about — getting to know the people behind the roles, finding points of connection, and creating something together.

There was painting, chatting, problem-solving, plenty of laughs and a glass of wine or two — a wonderfully relaxed evening with a team who clearly enjoy being together.

One team. One canvas. One artwork that belongs to them.

🌸 HELLO, SPRING! 🥂🎨

We’re celebrating the start of spring next week with a Sip & Paint that’s a little more playful, a little more colourful… and a lot more bubbly. 🫧

BUBBLES & BRUSHSTROKES is all about letting go, playing with colour and trying something completely different.

🥂 Bubbles in your glass.
🫧 Bubbles on your canvas.

We’ll be experimenting with bubble painting techniques, building up colour, movement and layers to create your own bright, contemporary artwork — guided by our art teacher, but with plenty of freedom to make it completely yours.

No prescribed painting. No experience needed. Just come ready to play, experiment and create.

Thursday nights are for Grown Ups!

Our very first Sip & Paint was a wonderful success! 🎨🥂

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make our first evening such a special one.

Our theme for the night was Botanicals - inspired by the Western Cape’s wildflowers. Rather than everyone following one prescribed painting, each guest was given a collection of wildflower and landscape reference images to use as inspiration — and then encouraged to take their painting in their own direction.

Before we began, we looked at some of the different ways we could approach an image and — most importantly — remembering that there is no “right” way to paint a wildflower.

Our art teacher was there throughout the evening to guide and assist with technique, colour mixing, composition and mark-making, while encouraging everyone to experiment, have fun and trust the process.

And experiment we did! We painted with brushes, sponges and our favourite - our fingers. 😄🎨

What we loved most was watching individual people work from similar inspiration and create paintings that were completely their own.

It turned into such a wonderfully calm, creative and connective evening — painting, chatting, listening to beautiful music and enjoying the process together.

Thank you to our lovely first group for trusting us with the inaugural evening. 💛

🎨 THURSDAY NIGHTS ARE FOR GROWN-UPS! 🥂

We’re kicking off our Thursday Night Sip & Paint evenings THIS THURSDAY, 20 August — and first up, we’re celebrating Women’s Month with BOTANICALS, inspired by the beautiful wildflowers of the Western Cape. 🌸🌿

But this isn’t your usual Sip & Paint…

There’s no one painting that everyone has to copy.

Instead, our art teacher will introduce you to different painting techniques, tools and creative approaches, giving you guidance and inspiration along the way — and then the freedom to experiment, play and make it completely your own. 🎨

For our first Botanicals evening, we’ll take inspiration from the incredible shapes, colours and character of our local wildflowers and use them as a starting point for creating your own botanical artwork.

✨ We have lots more creative Thursday evenings in the works & more dates will be announced soon — stay tuned to our socials for what’s coming next!

No experience needed.
No prescribed painting.
