“The Art of Honey Appreciation”

Calling all beekeepers, mead makers, foodies and honey lovers…

We are so excited to share a very special Honey Tasting Masterclass with you - a prelude to this year’s Mead & Honey Festival on Sat, 1 Aug. Join Elize Lundall-Magnuson (from the Honey Judges & Stewards Guild of South Africa) for a unique masterclass in “The Art of Honey Appreciation”

This masterclass focuses on the appreciation of honey. It’s about much more than simply tasting honey – it’s about discovering the story behind every jar, from the flower visited by the honeybee to the final product enjoyed by the consumer. It is also about recognising the remarkable work of both honeybees and beekeepers who carefully steward this natural process.

A Journey from Flower to Jar 🍯

By the end of the masterclass, participants will have a deeper appreciation for honey as a natural product shaped by floral origin, environment, honeybee behaviour, and beekeeping practices. Honey appreciation is an invitation to experience the rich diversity of honey and to celebrate the craftsmanship found in every drop. 🐝

Bring the kid's and enjoy the day at this years Mead & Honey Festival on Sat, 1 Aug ay The Bardolino Artists Retreat.

Entrance to the Festival for U18 is FREE. A day pass to the supervised Kid's Zone is R60 per child.

This fun filled family Festival has something for everyone with a wonderful array of activities.
