We had a time creating the adaptation of ‘Idaymani Icholwa Eluthulini’ .The characters were brought to life as we transformed the story from the page to the stage 📚 🎭 Trusting that our adaptation enriched student’s understanding of the prescribed text and will contribute positively to their assessment and examinations.

About last night… 🎭✨

The Merchant of Venice took to the stage for the very first time at the SSIPA Funda Festival 2026. Currently part of the English Literature curriculum for Grades 9–11, the production brought the prescribed text from the page to the stage in an effort to help learners engage with and experience the story in a more immersive and meaningful way.

Through theatre, literature comes alive, allowing learners to connect with the themes, characters and emotions beyond the classroom. 📚🌍
