Location: Currently, the following restaurants stock Moonshine ice cream: The Artisan in Greenside, Spilt Milk in Melville and Beefcakes in Illovo. Next month another two to three retailers will come on board to sell Moonshine's delights.

Review: Moonshine is basically ice cream with alcohol.

The two flavors we had was Tequila Orange Cinnamon which tasted like Tequila with an after taste of the orange. Tequila drinkers will really enjoy this one the second was Vokda Infused Vanilla. You immediately taste the vanilla and then you get hit with the vodka taste. I would definitely say that the Vodka Infused Vanilla is the strongest of them all.

Moonshine spirited ice cream is a premium artisanal ice cream, infused with alcohol and delicious natural flavours. It's lovingly hand-crafted using only the finest ingredients without a hint of artificial flavours,

At first, Moonshine Ice Cream was only sold via the company's FB website (Moonshine Spirited Ice Cream), but within weeks retailers became interested in stocking it.

The Moonshine Ice Cream Company believes in the "reuse, reduce, recycle" business model, which is why they package their product into high-quality, reusable glass Consol jars. Although they run a buy-back program where they pay R2 for every used Moonshine jar, to date not many customers returned their product - most decide to keep the clever jars and use them at home for various purposes such as spice containers.

Presently Moonshine has six flavours available: Tipsy Irish Coffee, Tequila Orange Cinnamon, Salted Mealie Brandy, Chili Chocolate Vodka, Jozi Gin Marmalade, Vodka-Spiked Vanilla. Each flavours have 5% alcohol.

We cannot wait to try out all the flavours.

Review: Frozen flamingo is essentially a strawberry daiquiri which is nice and sweet and a good balance of alcohol. The pink tea which is a Long Island ice tea substituting the coke with water melon and lemonade which is divine and fruity but maintains the Long Island alcohol content.

California Cobb Salad is with bacon, avocado, grilled Cajun chicken, tomato, hard boiled eggs, cheese and crunchy greens. Beefcakes is known for their burgers but for the healthier people this salad is filled with deliciousness and the bacon fits in just perfectly.
The second meal is called Buffy the hamburger slayer which is with cheddar cheese, bacon, caramelized onion, avocado and mushroom sauce and skinny fries on the side. The Beef patty was so tasty. The mushroom sauce compliments the burger. If you are very hungry this is definitely the burger for you to order.

Tuesdays and Wednesday’s is R100 for the drag show and the table. Friday’s and Saturday’s is R300 to book a table which includes the drag show and a build your own burger.
Not only are the waiters polite and respectful, they are also really good looking and after the show they remove their t-shirts where the crowd can order body shots from them.

Entertainment: Drag shows -we watched Gender Bender. What a fantastic show. We were entertained from start to finish.

Review: Momo Soko's recommendation was their chairman bao which is pulled lamb with hoisin, crushed peanut, qp mayo, spring onion, coriander, fried onion and toasted sesame which came with the Turkish Delight Lemonade. This is one of the best lamb dishes I've ever had. The sesame and the mayo complemented the lamb. The lamb was soft and full of flavor with a hint of coriander. It is recommended as a starter but it is quite filling.
The Turkish Delight Lemonade was very refreshing and explodes your taste buds.

The Second dish was a Norwegian Salmon Poke Bowls in field greens Maui Poke. This has Teriyaki, tagarashi spice, cashew nut, edamame, pickle ginger, avocado, pickled sh*take, ramen egg, yellow daikon, kale, spring onion, Asian slaw, fried garlic, red onion, Wakame seaweed, toasted sesame. Which came with Lemongrass Yuzu Gingerbeer. This is a cold dish and it's gonna excite the incredibly healthy people and the ones that are not so healthy will be pleasantly surprised. The salmon was so tender. The field greens complement the salmon. If you feel like a salad we would definitely recommend this. The Lemongrass Yuzu Gingerbeer was a delicious pairing with this meal.
While this is a healthy restaurant which doesn't sell alcohol, you are more than welcome to bring your own and there is no corkage fee.

This restaurant is also halaal friendly.

The place is very nice and welcoming, we were taken care of by the Manager Sharon. She assisted us with the menu and answered all questions in order to construct this review.
