The other day we got a visit from Dexter Wilton after nearly 6 years of only meeting on the streets of social media.
In 2019, I entered a competition I had no business entering.
The competition was only open to Cape Town based businesses but I honestly thought Baaa Health was the best candidate for this opportunity. Plus Iβve always said it is of utmost importance for you to raise your hand and try even when it seems like you wonβt make it. So try I did.
The competition was a creative hackathon hosted by 67SQUARED and Machete Marketing where in celebration of Mandela day, designers, web developers, branding gurus came together for just one day to help businesses flesh out their brand identity and leave with a complete brand identity and website.
I got a call on Monday from linde ndaba that I was one of the winners and later that week was the in person event in CPT over 1200km away from where I was π.
Entrepreneur and solution oriented are synonyms and without thinking twice I packed by bags, booked a bus ticket and started my very very very long ride to CPT.
We were all assigned brand architects and mine so happened to be Dexter Wilton . We sat for hours, talking about the story, the purpose, colours, the products and every other detail about the business.
I honestly didnβt think it was possible but before we left that day I had in my possession the perfect brand identity. It blew my mind and gave me zeal but more so, gave the brand wings to fly.
So basically, Dexter is the guy behind our current brand and design language. Dexter Wilton your work is amazing! Thank you!
A lot has changed since that fateful moment in our journey but I will never forget every single person that took a chance on us, poured their soul into the work and made it possible to shine as much as we do.
Also, notice how Cape Town has always been calling ππ€£
