LINDA
My parents disowned me when I came out 10 years back.. Life was hard since I was doing matric but I had to be strong. Now Xolile just called me and told me that she’s pregnant.
They kicked her out. My dad is a very traditional man and doesn’t take nonsense. Apparently her boyfriend rented her a place and bought her the furniture all this today. Xoli and I are the only close people in the family. I don’t talk to my other siblings because they think I am a disgrace.
Me: so when am I meeting this guy?
I was in her place helping her pack
Xoli: I don’t know, He’s a busy man
Me: but you’ll need him as soon as you give birth you know that?
Xoli: I know and he has assured me that everything will be fine. So I have nothing to worry about
Me: if you say so
We continued packing.
BANELE
My wife loves s*x and she’s very good at it. We didn’t even wait for Buhle to sleep, when she was bathing we were busy turning each other upside down.
Tasha: we should go back before Buhle come looking for us

NATASHA
Linda came with two coffees in the office, I was busy trying to finish up my presentation since I have a meeting
Linda: what’s with the glow? You look like a happy wife
Me: I am a happy wife thank you
Linda: whoa! Did Banele enter the cookie jar last night?
Me: I am still your boss you know that?
Linda: yeah, whatever! What happened?
Me: nothing, but what’s gonna happen is that you prepare the boardroom because I have a meeting or…
Linda: or what? You’ll fire me? Girl you need me.. And I already did that so sit down and tell me why you are glowing
Me: well.. He apologized and came back to bed
Linda: oh
Me: you don’t have to look so disappointed about it
Linda: I was kinda hoping that he was cheating, girl you deserve better
Me: well, he’s not.. Just let it go
Linda: yes ma’am
He took his coffee and left
BANELE
I pulled out and she took a towel and wiped herself.
Xoli: that was awesome
Me: yeah
Xoli: what’s wrong?
She came to me, I was sitting at the edge of the bed
Me: Tasha and I fixed things
Xoli: and you are telling me this because?
Me: don’t get upset, I just don’t want secrets between us
Xoli: I am not interested in your marriage Banele, I’d appreciate it if you kept some stuff to yourself
Me: fine
I took my clothes and started dressing, maybe coming here was a bad idea.
ANTHONY
When you are a Christian people think your life is perfect, they tend to think that you are made of steal when all you wanna do deep inside is to break into many pieces. I just found out that my fiancee, the same woman who was supposed to stand by me with the ministry she’s having an affair with my cousin Martin.
You can think you know someone when you don’t know them at all. I went to see my mom at the hospital who’s fighting for her life. I am the only son, my mom had me when she was 45, she’s now 80. Judging from her regularity in hospital it will be a great miracle if we finish this year with her.
When I accepted my calling a lot of people were against it, it was only my mom who held me up and showed me the possibilities of me making it in this life.

NATASHA
Banele came home very late and went straight to the shower. Buhle and I were about to have supper so we went ahead and ate without him. When he came down I was already washing the dishes
Banele: hey, sorry I couldn’t join you for supper
Me: where were you?
Banele: at the office, I had a last minute emergency and I am sorry I didn’t call
I just nodded
Banele: where’s Buhle?
Me: I tucked her in just now
Banele: I feel bad
Me: you’ll see her in the morning
I continued with what I was doing. Banele has never stayed out late which makes me to doubt him but at the same maybe there’s nothing to worry about. He helped me with the dishes.
ANTHONY
Besides me being a Pastor I work as an Auditor. It’s only a matter of time before I quit. I have never wanted to depend on the church but it’s getting bigger everyday. The church has +-1500 congregants every Sunday and I am thinking of focusing on it full time
Linda showed me the boardroom I had to wait in. I have met Linda a few times and I really love his energy.
A lady walked in and I just saw my wife, the way she dresses, the way she walks. I just fell in love with my eyes had right in front of me
Lady: Hi, Natasha.. Natasha Majola
Me: Anthony Baloyi
Her: nice to finally meet you
Me: a great day it is
Her: please have a sit
She’s married, I saw a ring in her finger but that only made me want to be closer to her even more. God will send you to random places so you can meet your destiny.
XOLI
Banele and I were out having lunch, he was happy about something but I didn’t want to ask
Banele: so our baby will be here in few weeks?
He smiled
For someone who has a baby, he was so excited about this like it’s his first child
Me: yeah, and I am not ready
Banele: hey, you can do this.. You are going to be a good mother
Banele has seen how awkward it was for us to be walking around with a ring on his finger and none on mine. Ge bought me a ring, we are not engaged, but just so we look like a married couple in public. I am not ready for marriage, I don’t want to be a wife any time soon
LINDA
I walked Tony out and went back to the boardroom
Me: girl! The Pastor is into you
Tasha: what?
Me: he likes you, and you guys really look good together
Tasha: that guy probably has a wife and I have a husband
Me: yeah, whatever but I know that I saw the spark.. You sure felt it too
I took my laptop and left
NATASHA
I did feel the spark, I did feel like I had a sense of belonging in him. His energy was different, more like our souls were tied in one place.
I can’t be falling in love when I am married, this is wrong and I have to let it go. Linda is just trying to get into my head because he doesn’t like my husband and I am not gonna allow it. I love Banele and I know that he’s not perfect but I really do love him.
I searched Anthony and he has a page, I was scrolling through it as I was going back to the office. For someone his age, he has a bigger church and many followers.
BANELE
My wife was busy listening to sermons while cooking. That was strange, yes we do go to church but this was really strange. Sometimes I look at her and feel sorry for her. She deserves better and I know that I am not her better.
I tried fighting it but I think I am in love with Xoli and I just care about my wife. I did think of leaving her but both our families are against divorce. I am just here because divorce was never an option but I think I’ve mentally checked out of the relationship
We are the best parents ever, but our love has faded and no one wants to address the elephant in the room.
