This Saturday, RMB Latitudes Online Live & Talks Lounge presents A Live Celebration of South African Creativity & Cultural Ambition - rooted in the 2026 theme Oasis, where conversation becomes a living form of cultural exchange.
First, from Michelin-star kitchens in Paris to the forefront of contemporary African cuisine: Chef Wandile Mabaso joins us as part of the RMB Latitudes Online Live & Talks Lounge 2026. Named one of South Africa's top 10 chefs, Wandile shares his "flavourful fusion" African heritage refined through classical French technique and what it means to redefine fine dining on the world stage.
Then, James Ngcobo - Artistic Director of Joburg Theatre, pulls back the curtain on the invisible engine of live performance. In A Salute To Story, he speaks with humour and a master's touch about curatorial vision, collaboration, and how thematic thinking brings stories from Johannesburg to international stages. A must for any creative, producer, or cultural strategist.
And finally, Emnyamandawo ("the dark place"): a powerful performance lecture exploring where creativity, resistance, and imagination exist beyond limitation. Directed by Ernest 'Ginger' Baleni and accompanied live by keyboardist Katleho Mollo, this immersive piece reflects on hidden spaces where liberatory thought takes shape.
Three voices. One throughline: how an idea becomes an experience.
🎟️ Don't miss the backstory behind the spotlight and the kitchen, and the dark place.
