Artists at Work

Artists at Work Local Artists showcasing their work while demonstrating their skill and creativity.

An initiative started by Robert Badenhorst Gallery and Bob Thixton & Sheryl Art Artists at Work is a Group of Artists who exhibit at 68 4th Street Linden on the 1st Saturday of the month. The Group was started by Lintjie van Graan (owner at Rustic Vine Restaurant), Sheryl Grimbeek and Robert (Bob) Thixton (Bob Thixton and Sheryl Art) . The purpose of the group is to get together with likeminded cr

eatives to encourage and inspire whilst working, and at the same time have an opportunity to exhibit their art. This gives potential collectors an opportunity to interact with and get to know the artists. The Group started in July 2022 and has grown from just a few artists to often having artists on a waiting list.

Hey there! So, after almost three years of bringing together talented artists to showcase their work, the organizers have decided that Artists at Work will be taking a little break. It's totally understandable - running events can be exhausting and it's important to take some time to recharge and come back even stronger. Plus, it gives artists a chance to focus on creating new pieces and honing their craft without the pressure of deadlines or performances. Don't worry though, I'm sure they'll be back with even more amazing art and creativity in the future. Let's show them some love and support as they take this well-deserved breather!
We would also like to thank Lientjie Van Graan, Belle Bistro & Wine and all the staff there for the support that they have given the artists.

I also want to say thank you to those who were prepared to start this with us and all the regular artists who showed up regularly and gave me encouragement when needed.

The sun has returned. We are expecting a warm Autumn day on Saturday. We have some wonderful art.
Willie Steynberg will have his wonderful selection of little, and some larger paintings available at very reduced prices. Anastasia Smith will have the handpainted bookmarks that she was working on last time. Brian will have his little metal sculptures. And much more.

Due to the crazy weather we are experiencing here in Johannesburg we are moving this event to 12 April when the chances of sunshine are dramatically increased.
Join the artists at Garden on 4th.
You can enjoy breakfast, lunch or anything in-between at Belle Bistro & Wine, Gotcha Pizzeria, and shop for that special outfit at Feisal De . There are also a variety of other exciting new little shops in the centre including Aljander Emporium and Deli alla Tati and there is more.
