We are all set for our Inaugural Music and Picnic Festival tomorrow, in aid of Up with Down's . The weather is looking fabulous, the musicians are sounding awesome, and the venue looks amazing! We have just checked the weather for Sunday and happy to report that it's going to be a beautiful day for an outdoor picnic with live music. Tickets are still available online from R180 per person https://qkt.io/t2O5cE or you can allow purchase them at the gate for R250, under 12's free entrance. If you would like to pre-order a picnic basket, you can do this online. This is a local charity event for Up with Downs.

Join us on the 23rd October 2022 for our Inaugural Charity Event in aid of Up with Downs @ Swartvlei Equestrian Estate. Bring your family and friends, picnic baskets (or pre-order one from us), chairs, blankets, umbrellas and come and enjoy live music on the lawn. Gates open at 11am and the music starts at 1pm.

Up with Down’s school was established in 1998 by parents of children with Down Syndrome. The need for special care and schooling for their children was the main aim. Today the school houses children of various special needs. The school is managed by the parents. The aim of the school is to provide a specialized education that will meet the needs of children with special needs.

Up with Downs is a non-profitable organization and operates within a Trust under the supervision of a Board of Trustees.

The school was founded when a few parents saw no alternative for their children, other than sending them far away to live in a hostel environment.

We have an awesome lineup of well known local Musicians who will ensure that you have a relaxing day out. In no particular order we have the infamous and incredibly talented Tigger Reunert on acoustic guitar and vocals, Suzi Leigh and Wendy Dewberry will be joining forces as a duo to perform their original music collaboration as well as local covers done their way. Then we have Christoff Beukes who is a Singer/songwriter and plays acoustic Guitar and Harmonica. Christoff Beukes is also our Live Audio Engineer and has given his time and expertise to ensure we have amazing sound for this event. Wilderness's well known and loved musician Eugene van Pletzen will be showing off his incredible skills on percussion, cajon and cymbals. Accompanied by Gerchim (aka G-Bass), this dynamic bass player has over 20 years of experience and offers a stellar performance at every show. And finally, as our Guest Artist, we are so excited to have the award winning South African Artist Wendy Oldfield who will be joining us and performing a selection of her original songs.
