What a journey it has been. Annie: The Musical has become one of the most successful productions staged in East London in a very long time — and that is entirely because of you.

We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support, love, and electric energy that filled the theatre night after night. From our extraordinary cast and tireless crew to every audience member who laughed, cried, applauded, and believed in this story — you made this experience unforgettable.

And just like at the end of a truly great movie, it’s time for the credits to roll.

She celebrated the best way possible—spending the morning swimming, laughing, and having a whole lot of fun with her fellow orphan cast mates.

🎭 MEET THE DESIGNER BEHIND THE WORLD OF ANNIE 🎭

When you step into Annie: The Musical, you’re not just watching a show — you’re stepping into a carefully crafted world. And the mind behind that world is Wilhelm Disbergen, our phenomenal Set Designer.

Wilhelm is a prolific set, lighting and audiovisual designer whose work spans continents, genres and some of the most respected stages in the world. After graduating, he moved to London, where he designed multiple productions, including Metropolis Kabarett as an associate designer at The National Theatre.

Since returning to South Africa, Wilhelm has designed for most of the country’s major theatres, with standout productions at:
✨ The Market Theatre
✨ The State Theatre
✨ International festivals in Dakar, Edinburgh, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Greece and Hamburg

His work ranges from theatre and musical theatre to opera, dance and ballet, including collaborations with Gauteng Opera, Joburg Ballet, Cape Town City Ballet, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and leading directors and choreographers across the globe.

In 2018 alone, he created new ballets for Joburg Ballet and Cape Town City Ballet, and his work has earned him multiple awards for Best Set Design and Best Lighting Design.

We are incredibly honoured to have Wilhelm bringing his vision, experience and artistry to Annie: The Musical. Every detail you see on stage is part of a story shaped by decades of excellence.

🐾 Meet Enzo – Our Star Side-Kick as Sandy! 🐾

Every great hero needs a loyal best friend… and in Annie: The Musical, that honour belongs to Enzo, our scene-stealing Sandy! 🐶✨

Enzo is a 6-year-old Beagle with a résumé longer than most performers’ CVs. A true Covid pup, he began his training at home before heading to Four Paws Dog Training Club, and now trains in Agility and Rally at Denoli Dogs.

🎭 Stage & Performance Highlights:
• Dog Dancing performance in Composition (2023)
• 3rd Place finalist at Eastern Cape Has Talent (2024)
• Played Sandy in Lilyfontein’s Intermediate Phase production (October 2024)

🏆 Titles & Awards:
• Gauteng Regional Overall Midi Novice Winner – Agility (2024)
• Expert Trick Dog Title (Do More With Your Dog)
